Ok Im just trying to keep up with this damn forum and work and be a roadie.
Phoenix was a great venue called the Dodge Theatre...very nice and Paul Gilbert opened the show and played his ass off. His band is really cool and he had the second guitarist from racer X Bruce play. He was very impressive also. Pauls wife plays keys and is quite good too.
JP played next and is practically playing naked...Only three guitars with him 2 6string BFR's and one 7. These were the NAMM pieces. He is in love with these that it is like a little kid explaining disneyland to you over and over. I am loving hearing it both from the speakers and from the speaker.
Dave La Rue really shines as the bassist for both JP and Joe. he plays a medallio0n gold black pg bongo 5 and plays stuff so fast that he has to be cheating. He also plays chordal stuff in the bereakdowns that sound like a piano and a fine acoustic guitar but it is the Bongo.
Jos Satriani sounded great but I was eating Pizza with JP so i cant give a detailed report
We are in Vegas and I lost my alloted contribution in record time. Jp did an interview for the Pittsburgh paper ...steveB be lookin for it.
The Vegas House of BLuse is my kind of venue. Really cool and intimate.
Here are shots I took on stage at sound check....gotta go and see JP.....
