Man, since I saw this on Ebay, I have been thinking about it. Did not have a trans purple and since purple is my favorite color, I had to go for it. It ships Monday! WOO HOO!

Thanks guys! I have never seen this finish close up, but this one looks like it is dead mint. The seller claims no chips or scratches and a mint case so I am pretty psyched. My Dargie and this should both arrive next week hopefully, should be a great week!

I was gonna get a Trans Purple SR5, but it already sold by the time I emailed about it. :(

Nice color though.

How long ago was that color discontinued? I say they make a Purple sparkle for the next LE color!! That would be the bomb.

Thanks BP! Keep up the great work with the awesome product!

I am more of a traditionalist when it comes to my basses, the Bongo is not quite my style. They sound great, but just not me. Good thing there are so many other choices! :D

Yes, the color does look like a grape tootsie roll pop!

Kirby is your last name Jones? Nice obsession I mean collection

Sorry BP, not Jones. I did meet you at NAMM in Nashville a couple years ago though. Looking forward to meeting you again, maybe at a future open house? :D

jones as in jones for more basses....
the bongo will eventually win you over when tone is supreme bongo reigns

Ha! My bad BP. I am not ruling out a Bongo by any means, just too many others to concentrate on for now! ;)

Hey Kirby, I couldn't get this one outta my head either, that's why I kept bidding. I even named it "Gilbert" - ie Gilbert Grape (from the Johhny Depp movie) LOL

Great score. Obviously the bass has gone to a good home :)

BTW, I agree that purple should be reinstated and released as a limited edition - it would look amazing on an unlined fretless model.

Cheers

Andy

Thanks Andy! Since all of my basses have names to help distinguish cases, I think this one may have to stay named Gilbert!
