Thanks for the info.

Yes it was a great way to celebrate the new year.
I still love the sound, the balance and the neck/frets.

The only other ones I remember seeing back then (77-79) was Ben Orr's (The Cars) Inca Stingray, & Rick James's Inca.

I had tried several in the music store & didn't like the colors (Brown, White & Sunburst).
All had the standard sized frets.

I asked the salesman to find me something different, and he obviously did, LOL!

I also noticed that the silver one had the skinny frets & to this day I haven't seen another one like that.

BTW: Can I add it & photos etc to your data base.
If so, how.

Thanks again

Dave, what you have there is one of the Blue Dawns back when it was a regular production color. You probably have one of the last of those, since we dropped the color in mid- 2002, but we made them into mid-2003 due to our backorder situation. This one, with a rosewood board and a matching headstock, was produced on 07/15/03 and was originally sent to Bass Central in Orlando, Florida.

Very cool!

Cat, it seems your friend has a nice StingRay 5 with a Vintage Sunburst finish, maple fretboard, and shell pickguard built on 12/30/99 and originally sent to Jim's Music Center in Irvine, CA.

Ritchie, man ... Another one? This is quite the bass family you have going here! This one has a production date of 2/18/05 and was originally shipped to King's Music on Flatbush Avenue in Brooklyn, NY.

I have a feeling you'll be posting another one here soon ..... Bongo anyone? :p

All reet!
