I put the EB 5 string flat set on my SR5 this week -- never had flats on my SR5 before -- and they just kill! The sound is so focused and punchy with these strings that I may never put rounds on it again. Perfect tension and balance, both in feel and tone. I can't believe these strings don't get more attention here. They are certainly the most balanced sounding flats I've ever used -- from the low B all the way up. Well, another great EB product!

Can somone post a clip using SR5+ Flats?

its not an SR5, but it gives u an idea of the stingray sound with flats:

Putfile - Nina Foolish Heart with dubbed bass

this snippet is me playing over a song called 'Foolish Heart' by an Australian artist called Nina. I was playing a Musicman SUB 4 recorded direct to Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 sound card via Sansamp BDDI

the Sansamp had very little blend with flat EQ by the way

please excuse bad playing

I've been dying to try the Group I's, but I want something a bit thicker than the EB .130 to go with them for my SR5. Pathetically, the dilemma has been keeping me up nights :D

Hey that sounded really cool. Nice take on the old Steve Perry tune. The bass tone was really nice. I never considered flats on my SR5 before but may have to try it out one day.

I've been thinking about flats on my SR5. Anybody have sound clips by any chance that they could post/link to?

I've never kept anything but flats on my SR5s for very long. (Slinkys actually lived on Heinz for nearly three years, yes, I know, believe it or not.)

I sat up two nights ago playing the BP Bongo (Group II EB Flats) and was just shaking my head at how good that bass sounds with those strings.

It's one of the easiest ways to really make a big change in your tone, and it's easily reversible if you don't like it.

Flats - they're not just for breakfast anymore.
