good question, my guess it's only been in the last few years...

For those who are interested:

Early StingRays, pre EB, came in a teardrop shaped molded case, light tan interior. At least, those produced around 1979 and early 1980.

Additional accessories: Strap, polishing cloth, 3 allen wrenches.

How do I know... cause I still have the orginal case and accessories that came with my '79 base.
