Usually those types of cloths have silicone or some such thing in them, which is why I never use them.

Jagged, I'll sell you mine for $65, plus shipping. :D

You can try washing it in cold water and woolite, or just buy another one. They're not expensive.

I'd just op for a new one. Not worth messing my guitar up when a new ones only like $5.

I don't use it.

I bought a big bundle of microfiber towel/washcloths at the local mega-big-box-wholesale-outlet-club-store-that-has-a-name-like-a-$ex-act. Enough to last several lifetimes, very soft.

Since the edges of the included polish cloth are not bound, I think it'd come apart in the wash.

I use cotton diapers on my balls. (That just sounds so wrong!) And when needed, a slightly damp diaper (this is sounding worse all the time) removes dust and finger prints. I'll let the hard poly finish shine through on its own.

It's not that whatever is in those cloths can or will hurt the finish - obviously they won't - but unlike hair gel, that you can easily shampoo out, most polish or wax that you apply to a finish is going to remain there, application after application. Being that it's softer than the poly finish, it's naturally going to streak more.

I'll go with the 'less is more' approach.

I picked up one of those microfiber cleaning cloths. I don't use polish anymore unless my instruments are really disgusting. If you have to wash it, just remember to skip the fabric softener.

Microfiber ALL THE WAY the cotton napped cloth's leave scratches, i have pulled brand new ones out of the bag and cleaned the dust of a BRAND new guitar and whammo swirly's in the finish!!!! the cotton clothes like the EB one just move the dust around, microfiber actually lifts it and stores it so no more swirly's.
once again microfiber all the way and just to let y'all know Walmart in the automotive section has the TURTLE WAX green cloth's ,they are softer than anything i have ever seen! i use them exclusively

I wash and dry mine all the time. I have a stack of about 10 of them (you mean the yellow ones, right?). I keep a couple just for the final polish after everything else is done. They never get washed. The others get so dirty applying/rubbing polish/fast fret/lemon oil/dr. ducks that I have to wash them or throw them away. Washing them works great. Yeah - they remain stained, but they are clean and ready to reuse.

*in best Rocky voice* Again?? That trick never works! :p

Wally didn't have Turtle Wax cloths but I picked up some Microtex brand micro fiber cloths. This is some pretty weird stuff. It's bone dry, no chemicals added, but it practically sticks to my hands! Have never seen nor felt anything like this cloth before. They had some off-brand, which wasn't quite as soft as these. Thanks again for the tip!

Bobby also lives with a microfibre cloth... works really well, but my only niggle is that the spiky bits on the side of the knobs (you know what I mean, right?) catch fluff. Grrr

Another microfiber convert here. It's about the only thing I've used that actually does lift dirt, oil, etc. from the finish without scratching the finish.

I actually bought a pack of the Microtex ones yesterday and tried it out on a little spot on my SR5 and they left swirling. So I'm gonna go get my money back. The swirling could be buffed out right?
