ok, time to shuffle things around a bit... I have a smoking Blue Pearl Sterling with maple board that originally came with the basic black pickguard. I'm wanting something different for that bass and am considering "Black Ice" or "Abalone". Thought it might be fun to see what you guys think would look best :)

Yeah, good point; I like tort and I think it would be cool on a blue pearl bass- but I've got tort on my black/maple Sterling HS, so in the interest of not looking too much the "same" I think I'll pass on the tort for this particular bass ..

Black Ice would be different too, as you usually only see those on Bongo basses.

Well, it's not blue pearl but this is a prime example (I think) of abalone.

You lot should know that I'd say ABALONE!!!!!!
