really sorry to hear that Arin :( .

On the guitar forum someone asked recently "are you using gig bag ?"

I'm not using and after reading your story will never do ! Hardshell are heavy and take lots of room in your car but a gig bag expose your instrument too much

I found this thread to be very informative, if not a bit depressing, and copied the link over to that thread on the guitar forum dealing with gig bags. Information is only useful if it is shared.....and I just thought I would direct "those guys" over here to read and learn......

The MusicMan gig bag is really good. I don't know of any screws in that thing. And it's heavily padded (not thick, but sturdy).

My ray's in a MM hard case, but my jazz is in a Ritter RG9000 gig bag. I'd highly recommend them, but they aint cheap. Too late for you now of course, that sucks, but I'd want an explanation from the manufacturer of the bag for sure.

Sorry to hear that. I'm not anti-gig bag, in fact, I find it a great way to haul 2 basses to a gig (double gig bag). But I'll be more careful after reading your post and you always have to be extra careful in the car with a gig bag. Thanks for sharing.
