Stingray or Jazz. Pros & Cons?

Sweet! Black/black/maple has always been one of my favorite Stingray color combos.

Rehearsed with it tonight. Awesome sound, just awesome, the whole band noticed the difference straight away, big lows, crisp, clear top end, punched right through the mix no problem at all. The sustain was amazing, it seemed to ring out forever when holding notes, in fact on some of the quieter stuff, I really had to back off it a bit so as not to overpower the rest of the band.

I'm a happy boy.

That's good to hear man. When I got my Sterling, I love the tone and feel in my room. And then I got to play it out with some people and it sat in so nicely. Was soooo happy.

Glad to hear you're a happy boy. Well done, you got the bass of your dreams.

At least you didn't have to wait the 20+ years I have before you got your first Stingray. I'm 41 and I've just sent Todd the final payment for his 30th Anniversary Stingray, so in a couple of weeks I'll be able to join the club too

At the moment I am EBMM-less as I sold my Bongo5 on the weekend and am using the money to fund other gear (in the absence of a fretless 30th Anni stingray).

It'll be worth the wait mate. I'm 42, and have been waiting quite a few years for the opportunity to get my ray, and now I have, it's even better than I'd could have hoped. Only an hour ago I came back from the bank having paid off the overdraft, so it's mine now rather than the banks!!

It's awesome, I can't put it down, and when I'm not playing it, I'm thinking about playing it, the jazz hasn't had a look in for days.

There's just one small problem.......now I want a Bongo 5 , but I guess I'll have to wait for that too now.

Don't sweat it Andy. I didn't own my first Stingray until I was 40. A high maintenance wife and owning horses kept me cash poor for a long time, but I eventually saw the light. Now I have a low maintenance spouse equivalent unit and two kids, which surprisingly cost a fraction to support compared to an alcoholic, manic depressive drama queen and 3 horses.

If you are in the market for a bongo I know a mint Bongo 5 HS - so great sound capabilities - going close to your price range.
