My eight year-old and his buddy stop in on my to say "hi" after school today... The Bongo is in a stand at bedside...

Peter: "Hi Mr. D. how are you feeling?"
Me: "Okay Peter - a bit better each day."
Peter: "Wow, that's a really cool guitar - I like that shape!"
Nicky (my son): "Yeah, told you it was cool!"

Can't argue with the purity and honesty of a child...

You know, it sure seems that way to me sometimes, but I'm sure my view isn't universally accepted.

Well, I don't know about that. I went and asked some people, and they reacted like this:

I had a similar experience recently. I've been teaching two neighbour's 11yo kids guitar and bass. Even though both their mothers ended up buying them cheapie six stringers, both liked to play my basses.

One boy just fell in love with my Bongo5 and it was the first thing he wanted to see/play whenever he came over. He thought it was the coolest, best sounding instrument he had ever seen.

He was so devastated when I broke the news I'd sold my Bongo5 to help fund my MM 30th Anni Stingray.

I have a 30th 'Ray which I never play.

I just got a Bongo 4 HH that I intend to play constantly.

Alternating that with the DuBaldo Sterling...
