I just copied this from TB. I think you guys will like the last pic.

So I finally got my Dargie Delight Bongo 5 HS Piezo. There is a bit of a story behind it.

Rewind about 8 months. I wanted order a Dargie EBMM but when i called my dealer they gave me an outrageous quote of over $2000. So I passed on it and forgot about it.

Fast Forward to now. I'm the Dargie's starting to arrive and I see the TPB has been getting in some. So I give them a call and they tell me they have a Bongo 4 HH on the way. I said sweet, I think ill take but i want to play one first just in case.....

So I called my local GC. I asked if they had any Bongo's in stock and the guy told me that he had a Dargie Bongo 5 HH, the exact one i want( i want a 5 string not a 4). So i tell the guy to put it on hold for me. He takes down my info, name, address, phone number.......

The next day I go to GC to pick up the bass. I see some of the Bongo's that the guy mention over the phone and a fretless Dargie Stingray. I sit down and pick up a bongo 5 HH and I fell in love. So I go up to the guy and tell him I put a bass on hold. The guys puts my name in the system and nothing comes up. He tells that the store never even got a DD Bongo. And my name was never put into the system.. i never got the name of the guy i talked to.

So at the same time I see a DD bongo 5 HSP on ebay. A couple huors from the end there are no bids and so what the heck I bid on it.

6 minutes from the end, my dad calls and says I have been out bid and if i want to bid again. I said because I didn't really think I need the peizo and didn't want to pay the extra cash.

I get home that day and check my emails the first one said

congrats on bidding

the 2nd.... you have been outbid....

the 3rd.... you have lost the auction

the 4th.... 2nd chance bid.....

the 5th.... congrats you have won.

Confused I ask my mom whats up and see said that a buy it now came up and she bid on it. So i won the bass

What happened was that the guy who outbid me lived in Germany and EBMM doesn't allow there bass's to be shipped out of the USA.

I just took some quick pics of her.....

What a cool story! Congratulations -- I'm glad you ended up with the bass you wanted after all of that. Your folks are wonderful -- and it sounds like they really wanted you to get it!

I love the conceptual toilet photo!

Damn, I wish my parents would have let me get such a great bass when I was young!!! My record store job just couldn't pay for it!

Congrats and enjoy!

That's a stunner! Make sure you try the neck pickup soloed with a mix of piezos. That's my absolute favorite setting for that config. Enjoy that bass!

Hmmmm.....I really need a fretted SC/H Bongo to go with my fretless, but I'm holding out for a 6 string.
