Well, yes.

A medallion gold Single H 4 Banger. Thanks to Rex (silverburst) for a MINT bass at a GREAT price.

Weighs in at around 9 pounds, and the setup on this bass is great. Did I mention that it sounds so stinkin good. The Single H is too yummy. Ive kicked myself for selling my old Single H Bongo 5er, and this makes up for it.

Heh. That Bongo came from Ray Duke to me to Rex to you, Travis.

I can attest to how amazing it plays/sounds/feels. It's a definite hotrod.

Poor thing probably has jetlag, too. SLO to Arizona to Dallas to Atlanta to LA to Columbus. Did it come with a free ticket from frequent flyer miles? ;)

It is funny how a great bass has a hard time finding a home. I predict that Rex will have another Bongo single H...you think that you are over them but there is a tiny kernal int the back ofyour mind that grows around this time of year and takes over.

Funny is right, I was just getting ready to post the question "If this is such a great bass why is it getting passed around like a ..............um, $0.25 prostitute"

Good work, Travis!

How ya been, man?

Wow Brad. Whats up bro? Im good, but how have YOU been?

BP, this baby has found a home. I remember the Single H Bongo being a great sounding bass, but the more I play this one the more I dig it. You should be proud of me. Its a Single H, AND a 4 string.

Thanks for the kind words folks. Except for Tiff.:p :D

I'm certainly guilty of sending on some really fine instruments, sometimes - usually - even knowing they were great. StevenB can testify to that, as can Strummer and a few others. It's a question of how they fit into what I want at any given time, not how good they are.

If I had unlimited funds, hell, I'd keep 'em all, of course. And I think that's what happens to plenty of perfectly ass-kicking basses around here (and elsewhere).

One thing has to go to fund another. (Sometimes, TWO things have to go to fund another, if the 'another' is a 20th SR5. That's why Heinz is with Stank and, to some extent, why the SmallEQ Bongo is with ADouglas - but let's not downplay my inability to play fretless, either.)

That bass came to my house first and Ray Duke picked it up here. I know that bass, heard Ray just KILLIN' with it at an outdoor gig, and if I didn't have the BP Bongo as my single H 4, I'd own it now.

It's a question of (a) priorities and (b) funds and (c) what you already have that just can't possibly go anywhere else.

The only reason I don't own that bass now is because I have the Dargie 5H. I had originally planned on keeping that one until the DD showed up, but I bought a house and I needed to buy a giant TV. Since I already had two other Bongos to keep me company, I let that one go before I got too attached to it.

If I had unlimited resources, I'd still have it. Hell, I'd still have the carbon blue 5SH that I owned for a short while, too.

I could never get past the color, to tell you the truth. The thing is a scalded ape and everything anyone in their right mind would need in a bass.

Poppa is right, there will be another Bongo 4H in my future, but I only have room for so many in my studio, and I cannot keep many around the living spaces and still keep the limitedly patient Mrs. Burst happy. She is still slightly shell-socked from the P-Bass purchase.
