OK ya'all,
I have played numerous SR5's and several Bongo 5's. So far I am leaning towards the Bongo 5 since they seem to be lighter in weight. I love the sound of both models, hence my indecision. I would order a SR5 if I could get one in alder or swamp ash. One thing I do know is that I will have the cash once my ebay auction is succesful! Anyone want to buy a baseball and golf ball display patent with tooling? If so, then go here,

eBay: BASEBALL & GOLF BALL DISPLAY PATENT (item 130100176804 end time Apr-22-07 06:12:00 PDT)

Freedok, here's what you'll do:
Sell that patent and buy both Bongo and SR5, in fact get a cuple each:)

Or do as i did: Go in to buy an SR5, realize the Bongo rules (for me on looks alone) and join the happy bongoloids of Bongolia:)

As much as I loved my SR5's, the Bongo rules for a number of reasons (sound is obviously subjective) not the least of which is that it's infinitely lighter which for old guys like me is a huge plus.

Bongo. Right?

Right.

Absotively.
Posilutely.

"Well, there's just nothing like it, is there? It's unique. It's, like, the bass. There is none more bass." -- Derek Smalls, Spinal Tap.

"Well, I say it's unique, but it's not truly unique, is it? I mean, there's lots of Bongos. There's this guy in America, in Texas I thnk, who has, like, a hundred of them or something. And there are bongo drums, too. And of course bongo mags*...can I say that?" -- Derek Smalls

* Look it up
