So i've since sold my Genz Benz G-Flex to 73h Nils (how are you liking it with your Roadster?) and i've downsized my rig somewhat.

I'm now running a Crate PowerBlock 150 watt solid state micro-head (these things sound surprisingly good!) into a Mesa/Boogie Thiele 1x12 loaded with an EVM-12L speaker. It weighs a fraction of what my Peavey Classic 50/50 and G-Flex weighed but still sounds huge. There's nothing like a well-designed ported cab!

I finally got channels 1,2 and 3 the way I want them, but channel 4 is rather finicky. The cab is awesome, as per my expectations. :D  ;)

Joe Web, man. Nice, clean looking set-up!

I seem to remember you using Marshall's at one point. Did you give up with them?

sorry tim, haven´t seen your post until now...

yes, i played marshalls (6100 and 2550 heads), you´re right. i sold them step by step and now play these mesa amps. it´s more the sound in prefer right now. but i think i´ll buy some marshalls again in the future, they were great amps.

hey joe - is that a marshall 8412 cab - I got a couple of those - they were grear - 4x12's you can lift!

no! these are heavy duty marshall cabs! the official number is 1982 and 1982B.
there were made in 1978 and 1979, and had been the "highpower" ones compared to the 1960s back in the old days.

originally they were equiped with G12H30s, but as i started to use Mesa amps, i changed the speaker to G12T75s and Vintage30s.

here is an update of my pedalboard:

I've actually changed out one pedal on the pedalboard. I didn't like the Boss SD-1, so I swapped it out for a BBE Green Screamer. Probably one of the closest pedals to a Tubescreamer. I also haven't played with the delay pedal alot.

TonyEVH I like your amp. :p (hint: I play one too :D)

Does your lack treble on the gain channel, too?

I haven't noticed any trouble with the treble on the gain channel.

The Valveking series is pretty good. If you want a fairly high powered all-tube amp for not alot of money, they're a good way to go. The 1x12 is 50 watts, the 2x12 is 100 watts, and there's a 100 watt head. Two footswitchable channels, volume and gain boost on lead channel, effects loop, really neat texture control that switches the amp from Class A the Class AB. Effectively acts like a mini variac and cuts off half the power to the tubes on the amp, and really pushes the preamp tubes harder. They also have presence and resonance controls for the speaker response. and reverb . .

I like my ValveKing, but just laaaaaaaaaacks treble. My guess is:

1) plain bad guitar
2) low volume
3) not hearing it from the right angle (too above)

I will say that I've thought about adding a BBE Sonic Stomp to brighten up my sound. It couldn't hurt.

I do have my Valveking set at a low volume level, so it's hard for me to tell how much treble it might be lacking.

You're right, that amp is a bit old.

Tell you what, I'll swap it for a brand new Epiphone Valve Junior for you, just PM me for where to send the Hiwatt ;)
