Bongo 5H w/piezo, lined.

I'm going to try stringing it E-C just for grins.

Trying to decide whether to put Dunlop Straploks on it (my fretted Bongo has them) or wait to see what the EBMM straplocks turn out to be like. I think I'll just wait and use an plain strap for a couple of months.

FYI, the EB piezo's don't tend to like a 'C' string with super low action, at least thetwo C strings I have tried.

Hmmmmmm......

Thanks for that. gives me something to think about.

In your opinion, would fiddling with the piezo trim make a difference?

BTW, I love "your" bass. It will, I hope, be forevermore known as the "SmallEQ Bongo." It should...it's got that written on the headstock!

When I had red silk acme flats on Moby tuned EADGC, I thought they worked great with the piezos. Of course, I don't really use super low action, either....

It was definitely the low action that did it. When I raised the action, the C piezo was just fine. Still playable, just not what I prefered. I suppose it might have been my particular bass, so maybe Adouglas should try it out and report back.

OK! If one of them is a HS Sterling I'm gonna wet myself!!!!!

No they're StingRay 4's and StingRay 5's with just the humbucker. Did you order one from them? We've got a Sterling HH on order for them.

Wow, this is great these are making their way through the pipeline at awesome speed. I have one on order through Corner Music in Nashville along with my 20th 5 string. Sounds like they may be here soon! :D
