Here is my new pedalboard!

CIMG1498.jpg

After deciding what I really needed on my board I made this. I used one of the new Gator pedal tote pro's, as it was the only board I could find large enough to acomodate the Line 6 FBV shortboard for my Duoverb. I have had a few gigs lately where over enthusiastic members of the audience have nearly trod on and broken off the Cat5 plug/socket on the shortboard! I have been running the pedals on batteries, so its good to get the whole thing running from mains. Whilst its a little bigger than I hoped, I am looking forward to taking out to a gig on Thursday! Its all held in place with velcro, and none of the pedals seem to be going anywhere!

Hey Tim - nice job. I, too, use the Line6 products - I have a Flextone III XL (and a Flextone III Plus as a back up), and use both the FBV and FBV shortboard - depending upon stage space. I don't have the "enthusiastic audience" problem - the singers tend to wander too close to my Cat5 connectors for my liking. I fend them off with the necks of my Balls!

Do you run the extra pedals through the effects loop, or do you put them inline ahead of the amp input? And, from the pic, it looks like the electric line feeding your power supply is running through the same "tie down" as the signal cabling from your pedals to your amp - aren't you getting some extraneous noise from that??

One Line 6 fan here!

Nice one Tim - I use the same shortboard and have been thinking of running a Boss Blues Pedal.
So did you solve the problem of the Cat5 ?
Also can you talk me through the "sequence" what goes where in the chain?

10/10 mate - nice one!!

I run both those pedals in the front end of the amp. I found on the Duoverb, the only sound I like for drive is the JCM800 model, and the Super Overdrive really kicks it nicely! As I set the drive quite low on the amp model, and get most of the gain from the pedal, I find the Phase 90 is woking fine like this in the front end. I already have a Boss Super Chorus in the loop, which I switch in and out on the Shortboard. All seems to work ok. so far!

As for the mains hum, I only made this tonight, and have only tested it here at home, but it seems to be ok! I have made a number of pedal boards with this PSU and nobody has complained of hum. I was very please with the left over bit of velcro I used as a cable tidy! The whole face of the Pedal Tote is covered in velcro, so you can tidy the cable where you like!

Well hopefully this should stop drunks treading and nearly breaking the Cat5 off!

As I mentioned above its:

Guitar - Super OD - Phase 90 - Duoverb (with Super Chorus in the Loop)

^ oh yeah - I use mine for controlling the Pod XT which goes into the return loop of my Marshall. Your set up is different of course.
I've been hankering after a Boss blues pedal and now seeing your set up has made up my mind.
I really want one of those Zinky Smokey Amps too !! 1 watt (or is it a 1/4 watt) of mayhem !!

Tim,

Where did you score the Gator Pedal Tote from?
I've been looking for a pedalboard to tame my many little coloured boxes for a while and this looks to be just the very thing !

I got it via ebay from a company called The Flight Case Warehouse:

Pedal Board and Case

They do sell out of ebay too and it was £75. They do a smaller one, and also do power supplies as well. Whilst I have not gigged it yet, it seems like it should hold up. I will post my thoughts after my 4 gigs this weekend!

Drunks I can live with......I had a dog come up and piss all over my Boss GT-5 once!
It still worked, but I could never feel the same about it after that.

Ha! my ol' man (God rest his soul - ex drummer too!), always told this one joke. It was along the lines of " Hey missus, can I throw your dog a bit?
Yes the lady says, so I picked him up and threw him over Moorlland Road ( a Street in Cardiff!)

Boom boom ! :D

Tim, the Keeley has plenty of bass added, i dont mind that the stock SD-1 cuts out a bit of bass ( like a TS9 does ) - it soars above the mix. But having the bass actually there with the Keeley does sound much fuller. I thought id sell whichever one i didnt like or have no use for, but i use them both as i find them very different, and useful too.

Dogs are supposed to be mans best friend, wonder what he thought of your playing ? :p Guess it was more of a "direct to the amp" kind of dog.
I bet it was a poodle, they tend to be elitist like that. Poodles = Cork sniffers. :D
