Kirk Hammett - Makes great music, solos always fit, always seems happy. He is the reason I started playing guitar

James Hetfield - Same as Hammett, Metallica got me through some tough times

Marty Freidman - AMAZING, and has a very healthy attitude

Jerry Cantrell - Alice in Chains can really get inside you

Reb Beach - Winger or not, I love how he plays

Glenn Tipton and K.K. Downing - Priest rules!

Prince - For being 5'2, he's the man... good at basketball too

Buckethead - Looks weird, but makes some awesome music

Steve Lukather - LOVE the way he solos, seems to be a cool guy too

John Petrucci. Most amazing guitar player I have ever seen/heard and the reason I picked up the instrument.

Steve Vai. One of the most original sounding musical pioneers with a perfect feel.

Steve Morse. I don't need to explain this one, haha.

Jeff Loomis. Absolute Guitar Monster.

Hmmm, last one? Paul Gilbert. The BEST entertainer on the face of the planet with extreme chops.

There we go, honourable mentions to: Mikael Akerfeldt, Daniel Gildenloew (sp?), Joe Satriani, Dimitar Nalbantov, Andy James, Andy Mckee, Matt Rach (check out his youtube videos  ), David Gilmour and Adrian Smith.
