I think I listened to "Rising Force" and "Marching Out" almost exclusively from their respective debuts until Vinnie Moore's "Mind's Eye" album came out.

So, I have to give some props to Yngwie.. but I think if you listen to "Rising Force", "Marching Out", and "Odyssey" you will hear his entire bag of tricks and there's no need to listen to anything else he's done.

Not saying his playing is limited.. I sure don't have the bag 'o tricks that he's got. But I just don't hear anything new from him for decades.. including his bravado!

Besides, I think he uses D'Addario strings.. :p

I love D'Addario strings.

I think it should be a really cool gig tonight. It is such a small place, I'll probably be only about 5 feet away from him. I'll let you guys know how it goes.

I think Yngwie is an absolutely amazing guitar player, and he has gotten a lot of unneccesary criticism.

Yeah, and some of it was directed toward Steve Morse.

Does anybody know exactly what he said about Steve?

There's no denying YM can play, I can't imagine anyone arguing that...but his attitude overshadows his talent to the point where I can't stand him.

Oh yeah, I think I remember YM saying something like that in a magazine. It was like "blah blah blah blah blah blah blah wah wah wah wah wah"

Silly boys and their egos...

I can't remember the exact quote, but Yngwie said something in an interview about Morse being a great player, but his vibrato was terrible.....something to that effect. I think Yngwie also had advice on what Steve should do with pickups....sorry, I can't remember the exact quote.

They made the exact same criticism of Mozart in his day. Just an observation.
