my first guitar was a charvel 375DLX.
i still have it, but i put on the neck of a 475er (with sharkfin inlays), modified the neck PU-poket for a sustainiac system and changed the other two PUs as well.
now i use this guitar tuned to "C" and play it often with my band septimal time and if i wanna do "as i am" or "in the name of god".

My first proper electric guitar was an Aria PE1200

I played this beautiful Aria up until 1995 when my guitar tech told me (wrongly) the truss rod was broken. I had just got into Van Halen and wanted a yellow EVH hardtail. The importers only had purple, so purple was what I got! Around 2000 - 2001 I sold this guitar for £275. About a year later I found an old picture of me playing it and needed that guitar back! I found the chap who I sold it to, and bought it back for £250! I had it re-fretted and serviced and the like and used it for a period of a year or so. This co-incided with the onset of my bad back problems, so it was once again retired and I started using EBMM exclusively. I still have the guitar, and I use it as a 'jammers' guitar at the Thursday jam session I do. Its in a bit of state these days, but I will get it fixed up one of these days! Its really heavy though! The chap who I sold it to, Phil Duxbury, has since sadly died, so it has some extra mojo and sentimental value now. I will never sell it again!

A Charvette (by Charvel) in 1990. At that time I thought it is good, payed 900 DM (=450 €). Nowadays I can´t believe what crap it is. It has bad PUPs, no sound, because it has a very little body and a short scale. Plus the headstock was ultramodern at this time. Unbelieveable.

I don´t play it anymore, but would neer sell it. I would get nothing for it and it is a great memory

ooo that was my first electric but in blue, the shop gave me the wrong trem arm and then gave me one i promptly snapped! then the temporary replacement (which from memory i still haven't recievec the trem arm , it was ordered in 1992!) broke through the casting of the block at the back! **** quality or what!
first ever guitar was a encore argos special (those from the UK will understand!)

My first guitar was my dad's old 50's Supro Archtop. Pretty much unplayable by the time I got it. It's still in pieces in the basement, one day I'll get it rebuilt properly.

First electric was a homemade strat- took a course at a local store (12th Fret in Toronto). Built it with my dad- did all the woodworking, installed the frets, truss rod, the whole thing soup-to-nuts. Played it religiously for years and have since installed a Floyd, many sets of different p'ups and a new neck a few years ago when the old one finally warped. It's retired (I don't play it anymore) but I'll never part with it. Reminds me of the best years I had with my dad.

My first guitar was 1969 Martin D-35 that my dad had bought, then later gave it too me. I will always cherish that guitar, i play it all the time but only take it out if it's my only option. My first electric was a solid body Ovation.

First acoustic - an early 80s Yamaha classical that I still have ... makes it out of the case about once or twice a year:)

First electric - an old Hohner L.P. copy that I bought in '84 .... long gone

Old dog of the collection? my 87 F-n-r Sq-ier Str@t .... bought it new and keep it as a memento of sorts:) ;)

Next acquisition? somethin' with a b-bender;)

My first guitar was an Aria Pro II, I don't have it anymore.

A bit of trivia...John Petrucci's main guitar in high school through the Majesty years was an Aria Pro II. Not sure if it was his first, but it probably was.

Hi, my first post on the forum!

My first real, "serious" guitar was a brand new 1999 MIM Fender Standard Strat, in Midnight Wine, w/ maple fretboard and white pickguard.

I remember choosing it at the store. It was a gift from my dad, for my 18th birthday.

Sadly, it's been stolen, on the 30th of march 2007 (along with my 2nd and main guitar, an Ibanez RG3120 Prestige in Twilight Blue).

My first guitar was a 2004 Luke. (Yep, I'm new at this. :D )

I sold it last year so I could buy a 20th Silhouette. I've not regretted it and don't think I ever will.
