Hello everybody,

I received my brandnew Luke II in black w/matching headstock just some days ago.

The looks of this baby are absolutely stunning and it plays like butter, but I just can't seem to get the vibrato setup right.
Even when only doing some slight warbling on clean chords the B2 and E1 strings go out of tune (pitch lowers).

On the Luke I am using 0.09-0.46 D'addario XL strings and I also applied some BigBend Nut Sauce to all possible friction points as well, just like I usually do on my other guitars, but still the same result...

I have a custom made Strat with a Callaham bridge and DeTemple titanium saddles and vibrato block, and even though I use a heavier set of strings (0.10-0.52) on that guitar and the vibrato is the old vintage style with six screws holding it in its position, it stays in tune perfectly.

I am well aware of the fact, that the vibrato on the Luke II is not capable of doing the Floyd-Rose tricks, but I was under the impression that it would at least be as good and reliable as any (well made) vintage style vibrato, especially on stage.

What is your experience with the Luke II bridge and do you have any tips for me regarding tuning stability for this babe?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Best regards, rock on

Ralf

Weird, my Luke II seems to keep its tuning better than I ever expected...staying in tune for days even with trem abuse.

I guess that didnt help much did it....

Well... not quite.

:(

But maybe you can tell me for how long you've been having your Luke and what your routine is regarding string change?

And what string brand are you using?

Thanks!

Havent had it too long...a few months.

Strings...ALWAYS EB Slinkys 9-42

No special routine...pull them almost tight through pegs, lock down and tune up, stretch, tune up...

please contact customer service. THis is not the place for this.

Already did!
Kevin (Scoles) was kind enough to give me a quick reply to my emails to Customer Service, but that did not help me so far.

I just thought that maybe some members of the great MM family could help me out with their experience, since I was assuming that this is a minor problem.

Sorry, but I did not mean to debase the product in any way, shape or form...

You answered yourself, man... Got zero problems with Slinkys, plus they play well!

Hmm, then it seems strange that this brand of strings works well with my other guitars

But thanks anyway, Eddie!
Kevin is really doing a great job in supporting me in this matter and I will contact the german distributor so they can have some service technician have a closer look.
