one of the most incredible tones i ever heard was an early carvin vintage series 50watt head . pumpin a jbl loaded marshall cab. ( in mr. morse's studio actually :) )

i love a stock marshall silver jubilee w/ svetlana EL34's & tungsram 12ax7's .

i got an original 61 tremlux w/ EL84's in it that is one of the most amazing amps i ever heard.

for gigging....my guytron still offers the most versitility. the only amp i've ever used that can get the same amazing tone at any volume. (anything from wedding reception to concert stage level)
i always plug straight into an amp too !!!!

Cool what about those ex marshall guys?

I havent found a new fender that came close. I used to say the same about Marshalls but I really like it when you get a good one. I also think that you should get a nice tube amp and then have your effects be trendy and current. You arent stuck with a hybrid digital dinosaur when better effects come out.

Hey cool, this'll be the time when I can say HIWATT again :)

No more Cornford Love?

So BP, do you mind if I ask why you don't test with Cornford anymore? I've always been very impressed with their amps. Did you find that they don't cut the mustard?

Just what I was wondering Dodgeball...I've never found a family of amps where the overdrive/distortion channel sounds so good as the Cornfords (to my ears!)...

Back loving the Hurricane at home, Hellcat is for gigging!

BP?

Speaking of great amps BP, have you ever had the pleasure of checking out Koch amps? They are great sounding amps, from the buttery and fat cleans to just flat out hellacious crunch they deliver! And they also cover everything else in between! The combos are finally being scooped up in the states, but it's the Powertone II head & cabs that really,,,,,well, you know;) I use them overseas and may possibly start using them here in the states!

Both you and Beej speak highly of these.
What I hear on the website sounds quite sweet. :)
I'll have to locate a dealer.
They appear to be a tad costly though.

We stock Koch too - I like them a lot. They are well designed for the gigging guitar player with the rhythm/lead boost functionality and the 2/3 channel design.

Met all their guys in Frankfurt and was well impressed.

Yeah Dave! Right On! Dolf Koch and the rest of the team are really good dudes! Personally, I think the Koch amps outshine the Diezel amps in tone and cost!:D
