Ok, i can see how passionate you all are and that you care. I am responding based on my reaction to the product purchase. I can live with the perceived difference. The guitar plays well and sounds well, and looks alot like the pictures posted in this thread EXCEPT the extremely well lit highly publicized (amongst EBMM fans) LE from the NAMM show. This will be my final post this thread. I am not selling the guitar as was previously indicated. Thank you all and sorry if I offended you Sterling, you have every right to defend your company because being completely fair, you do and excellent job delivering high quality instruments at good prices by todays standards. I own four and have had many others so I speak from experience.

PeteD - great shots and I can certainly see the sparkle from those photos _ I thought you might have posted this shot (Courtesy of 2007 Knuckleheads Calendar)

The only reason I didn't post that pic was because of the JP looking so different -- it's the only Blue Dawn I've ever seen that looked different.

Wait till you see the new additions to my Blue Dawn collection later next month

Late to the party on this one, but I'll throw my two cents in as a self-proclaimed sparkle expert.

BD pics, like Burnt Apple pics are very deceiving. The best way to get the sparkle to show is with a nice bright flash in darkened surroundings.

Which is one of the coolest things about the finish IMHO. When you see metalflake finishes, often the flakes are so large they're really obtrusive and ugly, like too much makeup or unnecessary surgical enhancements on an attractive woman.

EBMM sparkle finishes, by contrast, are subtle. They enhance, rather than beat you over the head. At least that's the case with BD, which is the only sparkle I've seen.

I like the fact that the sparkles don't stand out in a really obvious way.

A big difference I notice between a Blue Dawn and a "gaudy" sparkle, let's say Gremlin Green, is that BD is a blue burst base with silver sparkles throw in, but the Gremlin has actual green sparkles, mixed with silver sparkles, and maybe some black specks on a black base coat. I could be wrong, but that's what I see on close inspection.

Ernie, how is my stratus blue jp7 doing?

Your Stratus Blue is doing just fine. It says "Hi!"

It got a Burnt Apple friend a couple of months ago to keep it company.

Sorry you were a little disappointed with the LE BD. I pulled out my BD Pet from the closet and gave it a looksie. The sparkle doesn't show unless you hit it dead on with a bright light, nothing like the Stratus, were you have nice flakes of blue and silver and black. Burnt Apple is the same way.
