Ok. Jack, you got your NBA one. I get my NHL one. :D :D :D

Plus, I don't think mine will last as long as yours. It's almost over.

Ok. So how've you guys felt about the finals this year? Being a big Thrashers fan, I was disappointed that they got swept in the first round but they just weren't on top of their game and the Rangers were.

Now who do you think is going to take the cup this year? Anaheim or Ottawa? I've been pulling for Anaheim and now that they're up 2 - 0, it's making me pretty happy.

Thoughts?

Hey, at least the Thrashers made the playoffs. I went to games there for five years and that never happened. My Flyers, on the other hand, had the worst record in the league.

The NHL has to get a better TV deal. It's a great sport, especially at playoff time, but I can never find the games on TV.

Hey! I never realized there actually were some Americans interested in hockey! Cool!
Well I said it before that final started: nobody so far had hit Ottawa hard enough.
Just start hitting Alfredson, Spezza & Heatley, they become pussycats.
Always was the problem with Ottawa. It's not over yet, but (unfortunately)
I would not bet much on the Sens right now. :(

Still... I will cheer for a Canadian team, maybe with the crowd in Ottawa, they can turn this around... GO SENS!
and yes, I am a (poor) Habs fan, LOL

I would go for Anaheim if Ruslan Salei was still there. He is the only belarusian in the league. But this season he was playing for Florida, so I'll probably go for Ottawa, just to prolong the intrigue :)

There are a LOT of Americans interested in Hockey! When I was a kid, the local football team blew chunks, basketbore wasn't worth the time spent to sleep through a game, and we dominated in hockey . . . .

And now? I can deal with football, basketbore still puts me to sleep, and a good hockey game is a thing to behold . . . Oh, and I play, even at age 45 . . .

Oh, and although it doesn't look like it's gonna happen, unless something changes REALLY fast, I would prefer to see Ottawa win the cup . . . something just 'taint right about southern teams even being in hockey, much less winning . . . .

What's wrong with a southern team winning? That's like saying that a Canadian team shouldn't win the World Series.

Quite honestly, southern teams are getting a bigger and bigger fan base every year. The Thrashers have grown substantially and i'm sure they'll keep going. The Panthers and Lighting sure aren't going anywhere anytime soon.

P.S. I didn't know anyone else called it basketbore. Kudos for you! :D

Although I am a long-time LA Kings fan I've been a fair weather Anaheim fan during the playoffs. Go Ducks.

PS What was up with McSorley and that bent stick back in '93? I am still pissed off about that.

I"ve actually recently become a fan of hockey. I never payed much attention to it before, it was only football for me. But now it's growing on me. I was actually going for the Red Wings and it was a pretty disappointing loss in that series, but now I'll have to go for Anaheim...being from California and all.
Go Ducks!

I couldn't agree more!!! I love NHL hockey and have not been able to watch hardly any games. An occasional Sunday of FOX doesn't quite cut it, either. How can that be? I pay a ridiculous amount for TV service and I still can't get the finals of a major sporting event?!?!?! Makes me mad.

I'm from Minnesota, so I have to love hockey. ;) It was an amazing the reaction here when the Stars went to Dallas. It was definitely one of those collective punch in the guts that destroy the morale of an entire state. Yeah, we love the vikes, but the Wild are the big deal in town now. And since the Ducks beat them in the first round, well, I'll root for Ottawa to lose it in 7! :)

Growing up going to college games in the snow every year (I grew up in northern Michigan, on Lake Superior) just made it a winter sport for me . . . we didn't play hockey in the summer, and so anywhere they play where there really isn't a winter, just seems odd to me, that's all . . . just what I am used to. Oh, that, and when I grew up, the NHL was dominated by Boston, Chicago, etc. . . . there weren't any southern teams yet . . . so yeah, I am showing my age . . . .

Teemu Selänne needs to win the Cup, period. I know I'm biased but I'm sure a lot of people would like a player of his caliber to finally go all the way. He's been his phenomenal self ever since he got healthy.

I'm torn. I cheer for Ottawa because I live 5 minutes from there but I would really like to see guys like Giguere and Beauchemin win the cup.

The atmosphere in the city was pretty cool until the final started, now that they're down 2-0 the hype has gone down a little. A win tonight could change everything however.

MY TEAM will always be the Habs! I remember the 93 final against the Kings, that was pretty intense! To bad they haven't been able to make the playoffs this year (damn leafs:mad: ), but they're building the team for 2009 (the team will be 100 years old:eek: )

Game 3 is underway!

I can't get it on TV right now, so i'm listening to it on NHL.com but it looks like both teams are playing strong! Should be a great game. :)
