Wow! Congratulations, Mark! That room with the windows above the garage (don't you guys call it a "car park"?) is just lovely. Definitely an inspiring place to write/listen to/play music!

Thanks Beth, actually we call it a garage too. Down here, a "car park" is what you guys call a "parking garage".

The room you mentioned is a great room indeed (see pic below), but I reckon I'll be competing for floor space with rugrats, train sets and Matchbox cars.

That's a beautiful room. Love the hardwood floors and all that natural light.

Hardwoods should make it easy to clean up child vomit and spilled formula.

It really is a beauty, Mark. Vaulted ceilings and skylights are never bad. Ever.

Absolutely wonderful new digs, Mark! I'm very happy for the Deayton family!

Let me know if you need a few more Matchbox cars, eh? My feet are encountering Jackson's wheeled toys with increasing frequency when I get up at night.

nice timber there mate! is that morning or afternoon sun? gotta love open plan living.

Thanks Tiff! That's just a shot from the real estate website, so I don't know it it's morning or arvo. The room faces south, so it won't get any direct sun, which is a good thing come summer.

That's a beauty Mark. When do you take possession? I'm coming for a visit! :D

L

Contracts were exchanged yesterday, and in this State there is a 5 day cooling off period, which gives us time to arrange a building inspection, have our finance approved, and check local government planning regulations. If all that goes well, next Wednesday is when it's all official, and possession is 42 days after that. The vendors are building elsewhere, so we may even let them rent back from us for a couple of months, so we don't have to go through the hassle of moving house during winter.

Me, too! Are they leaving the projector/screen setup?

Yep, that's part of the fixtures that they are leaving. The BBQ is staying too, as it's plumbed into the natural gas supply, which beats the heck out of getting gas bottles filled every few weeks. The house has some cool features, such as rain water tanks for watering the lawn and washing cars, which are two things we can't do in Sydney at the moment because of water restrictions.
