I learned something about online communities - that people tend to be a lot more brave behind a keyboard than face-to-face. This can be a positive thing or a negative thing. We all have witnessed the negative things, both on the EB forum and other forums out there. The positive thing is that the keyboard warrior bravery also affects those people who may not "come out of their shell" in a face-to-face situation. These people will open up more, be more friendly, offer advice and contribute in a way that you wouldn't see in the flesh. In a face-to-face situation, these people may elect just to remain anonymous and here we get to see the diamonds in the rough.

I have also learned that online communities can create very strong bonds between people. It's a great family we've developed here, everyone!!

ps: the banana thing is still true.. next time you open one, try pinching the lil flat black spot at the other end. it will crack open at just a tiny amount of force, and the best part is that all the strings that you normally have to peel off will stay with the shell. hehe.. also; no more bruised black bananas from all the force you have to use when breakin off the stick end

Funny thing is every monkey in the world knows this but it took a forum post to educate several bass players.

What I've learned here is enough to become a de facto EBMM salesman to every bass and guitar player I meet. Oh, and the silver Bongo6 rocks!!!
