Turns out that two of us are fans of the most sublime pinnacle of motorsport, Formula One, and we're both here in Indianapolis (home to what is arguably the most famous racetrack in the world) for the United States Grand Prix. It will be broadcast on Fox this Sunday...check it out....

Greetings from Indy! Here we are, astride the famous yard of bricks....

By the way, have I mentioned how much I like this place? :D

Hope you enjoy your stay here! I have been to the F1 in the past, but cannot go this year. I hope you have a great time!

I will be in Indy tomorrow but not for the F1. Indiana H.S. Baseball Championships are also taking place at Victory Field. Al Green is playing at the Jazz Fest tomorrow night. He puts on a heck of a show. Great Band and the Rev's still got it! I wish I could stay and watch but I've got to get up real early the next morning to play at church.

Nice to know there is at least one American who likes brunettes, rather than the ubiquitous cookie cutter blondes. Enjoy the F1!

There's at least two... ;)

Closest I got to trackside was the Pocono Raceway about 20 years back - motorcycles. I recall the roar as they went by being incredible - can only imagine what it's like for F1!

F-1 is fantastic. I just wish it had better coverage here in the U.S. They didn't even show the Canadian GP, if I'm not mistaken. All I could find was NASCAR, Rolex Series, and IRL. I'm glad Kubica didn't get hurt too badly after that vicious crash.

Were you guys there for the U.S. GP two years ago with the whole Michelin debacle? I hope you didn't spend your money on that. Anyway, have fun!

Yeah, I was there for the 2005 fiasco. They made good by giving everyone free tickets for the 2006 race.

Actually coverage here is quite good, albeit nowhere close to the endless...ENDLESS...coverage of Nascar. Speed Channel shows one of the Friday practice sessions, Saturday qualifying and the race itself for every Grand Prix, plus this year they're doing a post-race analysis. Also, for the USGP, they do a live driver interview show on Thursday.

A few of the races are shown on regular broadcast TV...this year, it's Fox. That's where the Canadian GP was. The USGP is going to be on Fox too.

Oh my goodness! I missed it, and it was on TV? Man, I looked for it on Speed. :(

Is it me, or is it that the presumed #2 guys Massa and Hamilton are doing better than Raikkonen and Alonzo?

Yep. Young master Lewis took pole today. Alonso is getting scared, or at least frustrated.

Raikkonen is a fast driver, but he's not good at talking to the engineers like Schumacher was. Massa did a good job of going to school with Michael.

Hamilton is having the best first season anyone has ever had (so far)!

Alonso has been getting a bit grumpy about being out-paced by his rookie team mate, but McLaren have always been completely even handed in the support given to each of their drivers.

Team boss Ron Dennis has been quoted recently as saying he doesn't care who wins as long as his cars are first and second!

Go Lewis!!!!:D
