Hilarious and amazing all at once. I love everything about it. I'd love to see footage of Nigel upon receiving the finished piece...

I think the guitar should go to whoever can get the highest temperature reading on the fingerboard!

I just talked to Chris GUest at rehearsal. He had just seen it for the first time 10 minutes ago. He was pretty much speechless. He could not fathon the workmanship, creativity and engineerng and the best neck he has ever felt. He had to hand up because they were up but Jeff Beck was standing there and he is getting a photo of Jeff playing the guitar.

He also couldn't believe that we would go so hard at this. He couldnt thatnk me enough and pass on the compliments to Dudley Jon and the crew.

Dramatic Irony

Of couse the beauty of the moment is that the character of Nigel Tufnel is based on Jeff Beck.

This was a test of creativty, logistics, timing and precision. It must feel great to know your team is up to the challenge. I'd say all expecatations have been exceeded.

Will undoubtedly be MUCH discussed/admired/pawed/groped/drooled upon/ and of course derided by the envious/ backstage.

"Did you see the Global Warming guitar?? You have to check this thing out! It's got, like, this snow globe and a thermometer in the neck and a fruit dispenser in the back! I think it has a cfc filter that converts carbon emissions to upper level ozone. The more Nigel plays, the more he repairs the ozone layer! Who? EBMM. Exactly - who else could? Nigel is sooo lucky"

(It could happen...)

Here's a youtube of the reuniting of Spinal Tap. You can see some Mr. Horsepower action at the end.

Dudley,
Can you tell me what else is different about Chris Guest's Mr. H when compared to the other 24? I do remember BP saying that Chris's is the only one that goes to 11. After watching the whole 15 min Live Earth trailer again, I noticed that the headstock is distinctly different from the other 3 I've seen (including DaveB's). There's a dark logo or something where his sig should be. Any thoughts?

Just some fun, useless info for me... :)

Absolutely amazing.:eek:To all those involved in making this guitar. You are true artists and craftsman. And once again, we at the forums are privileged enough to get the behind the scenes info and pics. Just awesome. Thanks, BP.

OK here is the latest...

First of a private email sent to me by Chris....

"Sterling, everyone is so astounded by the guitar. Beck saw it and his
mouth dropped open. I took a picture of him with it. It plays great
too of course and I look forward to having about a billion people see
it on Saturday. There are so many amazing things about it. It's truly
a masterpiece. Thanks so much for your support and ingenuity.

Chris"

SecondlyWord has spread about this guitar already. Chris was just finishing his rehearsal at Wembly Arena and got an email from Al Gore's people that heard about the Al Gore Snow globe complete with the presidential seal..THey they needed emailed asap as Mr. Gore was taping Larry King and wanted to show the guitar off.....just before we hung up Chris got an email saying that Al Gore loved it.

Watch Larry King tonight and it could be pretty funny.

He said the guitar is the buzz of the backstage and that all of the players are seeking him out to play it and they are blown away at how good it sounds and plays in addition to the humor quotient.

That must make all the hard work that went into the design and creation worth it. You can't buy that kind of exposure.

Great work!
