Man that thing is UGLY! In the coolest possible way that is. I'm just a little concerned how Big Ben, the Eiffel Tower and leaning tower of Pisa ended up in South America? I mean sure, I can believe there'd be icebergs down there, but seriously...

:D

Hey BP, how about a bass with flames as a BFR or limited edition?

Just a thought, but I would be in for one.

I reckon Derek Smalls/Harry Shearer should have a matching GW Bongo.....now that would be cool and something for us Bassheads to maul over. :)

fred how about if we make you one..without the metallic teal back???

Sure--as long as it has the snowglobe & thermometer fingerboard (which I'm sure would look great sans frets).

Seriously, I was lukewarm about Bongos until I got an HH fretless in a trade deal. The Bongo is the most amazing fretless I have ever played--in all honesty, it beats my DD 2 band SR hands down.

I thought you couldn't dust for vomit...

That's my signature line on another forum. One of my all-time favorite quotes...but then recentlyh I was watching some "Law & Order" or a CSI show & apparently you now can--well, not exactly dust, but enough to obsolete the quote.

I'm still working on divination by the throwing of feces, but I guess I don't quite have that technique perfected.

what's the deal with Laklands ?

They don't sound as good as Stingrays, Sterlings, or Bongos .... why do people even bother ?

Have you every gigged or recorded with a Lakland? Owned one? They actually sound pretty damn good compared to most of the crap out there these days.

My Bongo sounds better but to say the Laklands don't sound good is a pretty vague statement. I personally think they are one of the best sounding basses out there and I bet even a bunch of EBMM forumites would agree. I own a 55-02 and even though i don't play it much, I have no problem using it as a backup to the Bongo 5 or even for full gigs when my Bongo is on the DL.

I personally think Warwicks sound like garbage. But I know firsthand as I have owned them and gigged with them. Part of the problem is that they are not condusive to the styles of music I play and I hate the tone.

To each their own though.:)
