I finally got a chance to swing by my local, (San Marcos), GC and check out the BFR JP they just got in ... man these BFRs are such a beautiful instrument ... Absolutely Stunning!! ... just WOW!!
Its a killer Black Burst quilt with all the goodies. Props to whoever is running the spray gun, fantastic shading and highlights.
It was well displayed, freshly wiped down, and just overshadowed the wall of PRS's behind it. The pics we have seen don't do these BFR's justice.

Its too bad I'm not a fan of the JP neck, otherwise that baby would have followed me home.

That's because it is a mahogany neck. If it were unfinished it probably wouldn't hold up as wel, being that it is very porous.

I have several BFR Lukes and JPs arriving in the next 4 days. I can only imagine how amazing they are - especially after seeing the ones at NAMM!

WOOPS! My last post was a bit misjudged. I put that before I read a few other threads if ya know what I'm saying. I had no idea what had gone on. But, I stand by what I said because........I am enjoying trying to resist the lure of these bad boys :D........don't think I'll hold out too much longer mind you!

No, the guitars arriving in the next few days were ordered for customers while at the NAMM show.

I do have a few that may pop up in my inventory from time to time, but pretty much every BFR I have coming between now and December is spoken for. And that's not just one or two ;)

Oh ok, so the ones ordered at NAMM aren't on your website. :) makes sense now. I initially thought, holy crap! that is like 2 - 3 months early!

I am trying to do some rough calculations on when my BFR maybe due :D

I played this BFR for about a 1/2 hour on Sunday july 8th.
Great looking top, even nicer than the one in the La mesa store.

The laquered neck isn't for me, but it sure was fun being one of the first to try one out!

I am really curious... how does the neck feel? It is the one thing I am not too keen on but the rest of the guitar is amazing. Is the neck sticky? or can you tell us how it felt? I need to know I have this guitar on top of my wish list.

I finally got a chance to go to GC San Jose and try out the BFR JP6. its absolutely beautiful. its flame top, as we all know. amazing sound via Mesa Boogie 5:25 Express (of course i have to choose the mesa amp!! LoL). im not the best qualified guy but IMHO, the sound is so rich and so full (on a clean channel), and as well as on a high gain setting. totally love every bit of this guitar EXCEPT for one thing...

The finished neck is not really for me. the finished neck is giving me the feeling that it's a wide neck profile, almost a gibson. also given the fact that my hands sweat a bit when i play, it gets sticky after a while. but overall, I LOVE THIS BFR JP!!! if i didnt already have 2 JP's, for sure i would have bought that baby and took it home with me. So now im trying to get me a Mark IV head!
