hey all,
I'm heading down to Colorado Springs for the next couple of days and was just wondering if there were any Knuckleheads from there and if they could point out a place or two that I should see while I'm in town and/or wanna take me to Pike's Peak?? :D

Thanks!!!

BTW, I'll have the DD SR5 HH in tow

How funny! We were just discussing Colorado Springs here at work. One of my coworkers just got back from a week of training at one of our IT facilities. My mom lived there for awhile, and I spent some time there training at the OTC.

The Garden of the Gods is a pretty cool spot.

I am up in Denver -

You could tour the Air Force Academy, see the Royal Gorge, take the tram up Pike's Peak, drive up to the old mining/gambling town of Cripple Creek, visit the Broadmoor resort (stop at the Golden Bee Tavern for a yard or two of beer and sing drinking songs!). Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame is there - yippie kai yay.

Don't know about BBQ down there - Colorado is not known for a specific food type - but we have plenty of good restaurants. Being a landlocked state - we actually have a high number of seafood restaurants and have the highest per capita number of SCUBA divers in the nation!

Other than that - Colo Springs is a bit boring - enjoy the best you can!

Pike's Peak is cool. I've never felt so "out of shape" in my life as I did at that altitude. I've heard that Garden of the Gods is cool too.

Garden of the Gods absolutely if you like the outdoors.
Also there's a minor league baseball team there called the skysox. If you like baseball and they're in town.
And one of my favorite restaurants WAHOO'S FISH TACO has 3 stores in town--get the BANZAI STEAK BURRITO (Carna sada, black beans, rice and terriyaki vegetables for about $5.50)

I swear, you'll thank me.

I lived there for 12 years. It is a very boring place. Garden of the Gods is awsome...the first 3 times lol. People are very nice there but everything out of the oridinary is up in Denver. As for food I would recomend Margaritas... my Dad played guitar there for years and we got free 5 star meals.. just don't confuse it with The 3 Margaritas.

thanks guys!
yep, we drove the Peak and garden of the Gods yesterday... awesome, and ya, I felt reeeally out of shape up at the summit too :p

so today we're just gonna have some breakfast here at the Antlers and then roam downtown for an hour of two before we drive back to Denver to catch our flight home.
Colo Springs might not be the 'freaky' metropolis like Denver is but the folks are great here and it is a beautiful, albeit sleepy, little city.

cheers!

Pete
