So, I was talking with Mr. O'Sullivan and was checking out his Photobucket account, and see that he has Axis hardtail models (NOT the Super Sports...)...

When did these come around? They're not still available are they? It would make sense to offer a hardtail version, with the three-way toggle switch. Had I have known that they were around, I'd have scooped one up... or most likely complained that they weren't available left handed.

Can anyone shed some light on this for me??

I have one from around 98 or so I believe - they are the best axis guitars ever made IMO, mine sounds like no-other axis I have ever played, sonically they are superior, also the neck on mine is more like the EVH neck than the axis neck that came after, tons of mojo in these guitars, I go back and forth on whether to sell mine or not becauuse im a trem guy on stage and the axe doesnt get played much - also they came in translucent gold, honeyburst which is what color mine is and purple - they might have had a red as well but ive never seen one, anyway they rock the house - I had an evh at the time and I went out and bought a PRS for les paul tones, literally 6 months later I traded in the PRS for this guitar and I have never looked back -

Hmm.

I don't believe I am referring to his EVH hardtail although he does have one of those in the hardtail format as well. On his photobucket page, the hardtail says "Axis" on the headstock... It doesn't look altered, or changed post-factory either. He's actually got at least two from my brief perusal of the webpage. I'll post some links here to give y'all the idea.

I'm still retarded and don't know how to just post the pics in the post directly. I think this and an Axis Super Sport would be the most lethal combination of guitars... and with only the 3-way p-up selector and a volume knob, the Axis hardtail would be tonally different as lock-ny has suggested.

You're not retarted. Nobody's ever told you is all.
If after I tell you how, you still can't, then you're retarted! :p;)

After uploading an image to Photobucket it shows your image in a reduced icon and has a list underneath.
It has the choices of

Share URL
URL Link
HTML Tag
IMG Code

Simply click on the IMG Code and it will automatically copy the URL link to your clipboard.
Now when replying in the forum simply right click in the gray box where you'd type the text as I am now, then paste.
Voila!!!
After you submit reply, your image will be showing in your post! :)

Wow.

You'd think it'd be THAT easy.

I'm on a Mac, and have been told numerous times how to directly post a pic. Why I'm telling you all this, is beyond me. I suppose sullying and tarnishing my glorified reputation was on today's menu.

I'm retarded. Trust me. But thanks for the vote of confidence! Hahahaha.

So, what do you all think about those hardtail axii? (back on schedule, back on schedule...)

Try copying the direct url...which is in the same section as the link picture box. Then just paste that. Also to get the direct link of a photo right click it go to properties and then there will be the photo url.

Hope that helps

Weird.

I tried all the above suggestions on my Mac and got a question mark for a picture. I then tried it on my PC and got the dreaded X box for a picture.

I think I've resigned myself never posting pictures. This sucks, kids.

On a Mac, it's just as foggy said. Then, when you go to post, click on the icon (above the box where you type your text) that looks like a mountain and a sun or moon or something. Then, a box will come up where you paste whatever was copied from photobucket for the IMG code. At least, that's how it usually works. In this case, you'll have to copy the "URL Link" into the box that came up when you clicked on the mountain/sun/moon icon.

The guitar could have been an artist piece. EBMM will sometime make changes for artists.

Nice guitar. Love the hardtails. |B)

Yeah, the Axis hardtail is pretty much my favorite guitar. There was a guy selling a purple flame one in brooklyn that I really wanted. Unfortunately, he wanted more than I could pay at the time. It was awesome though. I'm always keeping an eye out for others.

Round three!

Let's see if this works now!

And thanks for the pleasentries, Foggy. It seems as if we're all revealing our true colors in this thread. Lovely! I decided that Mr. Arnold is the spokesperson for this thread.

I'd love to get some official word on the whole "Axis hardtail" thing. I wonder why it went away. I mean, the ZSS does in fact offer more option, but what about a straight-forward humbucking guitar a la no trem? And if you ask me, it looks super hot. The one that O'Sullivan has makes me want to play right handed, and kill him, although not before somehow weaseling my way into his will.

That's a Translucent Red Axis Sport hardtail in my avatar photo and I have a black '97 hard tail (S/S/H) that I gig with regularly. This is my favorite EB/MM guitar and I would sure welcome a reissue (hint, hint!). :)
