Hi just thought id introduce myself.

I have finally got myself a musicman bass a goal of mine since i started playing five years ago. I have just recieved my stingray five fretless, left handed in black with a black scratchplate and a birdseye maple neck and i am over the moon with it. what a bass and i havnt even been able to plug it in yet.

I can really see myself becoming addicted.

so hi

Just a quick Q is birdseye maple necks standard on 5 strings or is it an upgrade?

Welcome metaltime:)

Birdseye maple is standard on pretty much all MM's. Musicman staff are all slightly mad and put as much birdseye as they can. They are the birdseye fairies!!! Some have more than others, luck of the draw, and they don't charge any extra. As I said, they are all slightly mad!!:D

Welcome to the forum.

Oh, and do a search on the forum for the image flipper. The rest of us need it so we don't get dizzy looking at lefty basses. :D

Welcome to the forum. You threw me with the fretless...wouldn't have expected that from "metaltime".

From what I've read, the birdseye used to be standard, but due to availability issues as of late, they only use it on LEs.

When I first saw this thread, I thought your handle was "mealtime".

Welcome, and do you have any food?

That's funny jack, I thought the same thing when I first saw his handle.

Me 3, I thought it was '' mealtime '' - Probably because I'm waiting for my wife to get home so we can go out to dinner!

Oh, and, Welcome to the forum - It's a wonderful place.

Thanks for the great

After spending some time with my bass i actually cant get over how good it is. It really is just perfect and i hate to say it but it blows my rick Turner fretless five out the water.

Hey big up the lefty community.

and for the people suprised by metal and fretless go check out Steve Digiorgio he is the Jaco of metal it is quite an experience. he has played for both death and sadus.
