There are some pretty cool DVDs out there. Lamb of God's Sacrament comes with a DVD that shows the making of the new album. Gigantour has some cool live footage of Dream Theater, Nevermore, Symphony X, Megadeth and others from the tour. Pantera's Vulgar Video collection shows more naked women and drinking than music, but I'm alright with that. And then theres DVDs like Korn's Duece [more like (insert Manfred Mann lyric):D] that shows a band that obviously thinks they're the greatest thing on the planet, but looking back on it now, they look like idiots [I should've seen that back when I liked them].

So, what's your favorite music related DVD? Be it Spinal Tap, Rockstar or Slayer, name it and what about it you dig the most.

I'll have to go with Dream Theater's Chaos in Motion as my recent fave, it's funny, fun to watch, and inspiring, showing how the band got in the groove for the album, the concept [or lack thereof] behind it, and take after take of mistakes [I didn't think DT made mistakes haha]

Metallica's "some Kind of Monster" was cool I thought, one reason being that it gives insight into writing processes and how things go down in the studio. Not to mention there was a lot of funny stuff! :D

I'm partial to the new Queensryche "Mindcrime at the Moore" Operation Mindcrime I&II DVD. Also a great tour documentary that comes with it. A really great show. I was at the Moore theater all three nights it was filmed, so I'm in it several times. :D

Seen a lot of great music vids ... but the movies/documentaries always win for me.

This is Spinal Tap. Also quite like "Dig", the documentary about the Dandy Warhols. And, of course, Almost Famous.

I do want to get Rush's R30, I keep hearing it's awesome.

Some of my fave's so far are:

Eagles - Farewell I Tour Live from Melbourne
Eric Clapton - Crossroads Guitar Festival
Dream Theater - Live at Budokan
Van Halen - Live Without a Net (I wish is was originally digitally recorded)
Queen + Paul Rodgers - Return of the Champions (I could do without the little condom and aids commercials in it though)
Stevie Ray Vaughan - Live at the Mocambo
Stevie Ray Vaughan - Live from Austin Texas
Deep Purple - Total Abandon (I don't have it yet, but have seen many clips! Steve just rips on this one!!!)

Dream Theater- Live at Budokan is THE cutting edge, most badass, pure energy DVD I own. I've seen it at least 25 times and it amazes me everytime.

Porcupine Tree - Arriving Somewhere is also awesome for the atmosphere it creates/carries.

Dreamrycher, thats pretty badass, I'd love that dvd too. I need to get that album, especially since Paul Northfield mixed that and the new DT, which sounds amazing.

I was going to say Some Kind of Monster, but I forgot. Cinematic Gold, fans love it for all the Metallica, non-fans love it for all the humiliation :)
