They can be very tasty if properly prepared.

Y'know what drives me nuts? I go to the grocery store, and when I look at the ingredients on cans of "cat food", NOWHERE does it say "Cat".

That's false advertising, that is.

I really love my 89 Stingray. I bought it from a now departed player on another forum. I had a financial situation that forced me to sell it and due to the fellowship of the forum I was able to buy it back when my luck changed. Those times are now just a memory. So what is left? I still love my 89 Ray and it is my go to bass. I can't imagine ever selling it again. But yes I am an occasional lurker here. Why? because I love my Ray and stop in hoping I might find something to make me want to visit more often. It's like reading a bunch of Eddie Haskill scripts from the Leave it to Beaver. "Gee Mrs. Cleaver that sure is a pretty dress you have on today, and be sure to tell Mr. Cleaver how much we appreciate him taking Wally and me to the game this weekend." bottom line this manufacturers forum is so "directed and controlled" it doesn't hold my interest. You brought the subject up about "lurkers" I'm telling you honestly how I feel. Any bets on the longevity of this post. :):):):D Regardless of the soon to be incoming attacks I'll still love my Ray.

TR4what?

I know you.

I bought it from a now departed player on another forum.

Gregg? Sometimes it seems to me that not only is the exalted Frankensteinberger gone, but so is the place that brought us all together.

bottom line this manufacturers forum is so "directed and controlled" it doesn't hold my interest. You brought the subject up about "lurkers" I'm telling you honestly how I feel. Any bets on the longevity of this post.

The bottom line is that it ain't the old place (thank God) and we can commiserate all you like, but that ain't coming back and this ain't going to change.

Your post will stay right where it is. I appreciate what you're saying, but you've read enough here, I'm sure, to figure out the difference between a manufacturer's forum and an open season forum. Hell, you've been around long enough to know, so I'm not telling you anything you don't know.

All I can tell you is that you're welcome to leap in whenever you want, and you're also welcome to remain in lurk mode if you think that's the thing to do.

I of all people get the difference. You know what I'm saying is true. Sometimes it's better to have clearly defined lines, but if that doesn't appeal to you, so be it.

I consider you a friend and I miss the person you got that Ray from - more than I like to think about, most of the time. He was a good man.

Stick around and play it however you want, okay?

I see your point and I agree that it's pretty clean cut. At the same time I love this place. Different strokes. In any case it's nice to know you're around now and then.

And to emphasize your point, here are our very basic, garden variety troubles:

I'm so glad to know that you love this place, Lisa. I just thought I might mention that in public.

YOu know what is funny is that this isnt as clean and things dont get deleted or censored near as much as the other place.

Case in point I think that TR4a is a jackass and have always thought so.

Check his posts...he is a nothing. zero. About as good as a TR4A. HOw could you name yourself after such a miserable sports car?

See the beauty is that we both get an opinion.

By the way this had nothing to do with the last post I just thought he may want some positive feedback on his worth here.

what would there be to hate? I was just responding honestly to the lurker thread and Big Poppa is so upset that anyone would dare to not bow down that he calls me a jackass. yes a real class act.

back to lurking

Listen I may be a clown and some people actually think Im funny.

See it goes both ways. You were insulting quite a few regulars here by shallowly calling them Eddie Haskells. Get it?

I really dont care if you come, go, or lurk. I do know that you are more comfortable with a forum that is led by someone who has never played one, made one or designed one but is an expert. I my jackass, regularly do all three. Maybe some people appreciate the difference.

No you are right I am a jackass, I should have remained in the lurk mode. The lurker thread lured me. But again you are wrong the other forum is long gone. all of the people and the good vibes are a memory,

I've met Sterling and I've talked to him on multiple occasions. A lot of us have.

Would he know me standing at a bus-stop? Probably not - I am not claiming to be anyone special other than a regular forumite whose had the opportunity to participate in this companies sponsored events.

And through that opportunity I've met other folks I never in a million-years would've crossed paths with (like Jack!). And I am grateful for the opportunity. It has provided insight and understanding for me into multiple areas of this industry and has provided me, for what it's worth, an opportunity to share my thoughts and opinions with these very same individuals.

Company sponsored? Sure... Company censored? Not... There are rules and boundaries - it keeps this place in order and it works.

Some of us get it... Some of us simply "lurk"...

Well, I love EBMM basses and I love Sterling Ball (a high class act in my view), so I love coming here and I make no bones about it. At least here you can openly admit to being a fan of the products and people and not be chided a “fanboy” like at some other sites.

Since you clearly wanted to dive bomb in a piss off people I’d say mission accomplished! But incidents like this are so rare here, unlike most other sites; you’ll quickly be labeled a “BigBallz” and forgotten.

Enjoy your putrid day! :D

You and me both.

I've been called an "EBMM-fanboy" once. By a friend of mine. I didn't get offended.
This very friend got his Bongo 5-string recently and he can't put it down. He also bought my fretless SUB so I could buy Ritchie's Dargie SR5. So he now owns two basses, both Musicmans.
Now,how about that?!?:D

Gee Mr. A$$hat,

You post something like that, insulting this forum and everyone on it, and then make a "no class" accusation. WTF? Then you make the ridiculous "incoming attacks" statement as if your previous words were completely benign?

Obviously, you have the right to your opinion. Just keep in mind that if you pulled sh!t like this at the local watering hole, you'd have more than your "post" deleted.

Why is that more and more often we have people coming on this forum and starting a conflict on a pleasant thread? TR4a, I do believe that everyone has a right to their own opinion. You have yours. Although why exactly did it posses you to bring it out with cheap insults and a crappy line from a movie? Doesn't seem like a mature way to go about things.

Can we return to Beth's good intention thread?
