Unfortunately my little sister is getting married(finally) that same weekend back in Maryland so I will have to miss this extraordinary event. :( I'm sure you guys will pick up the slack for me, and I look forward to seeing pictures and movies galore when I get back.

Party on.

HOTEL info!

OK everyone, more info on the HOTEL:

Fantasy Springs Resort and Casino has been turfed! They just couldn't come through with a sweet deal for us, and it looked like dealing with them was going to be a headache.

The new option, which we should be booking this afternoon, is at:

Embassy Suites La Quinta
Embassy Suites Hotel La Quinta California - Spa Hotel - La Quinta CA Hotels

It has a really nice pool area, which we can take over, and each of the rooms is actually a suite (i.e. room with a couch and tv in it with a separate bedroom) I also believe that each of the suites has a pull-out bed, so if any of you would like to double up on the rooms, noone has to sleep on the floor or have one of those "THOSE ARE NOT PILLOWS" experiences (if you don't know what I'm talking about, go rent "Planes Trains and Automobiles" with Steve Martin and John Candy).

We're going there this afternoon to really get a feel for the resort. If we're happy, we'll book it! We'll let you know the secret password to book your room under the group rate, which is going to be a lot cheaper than Fantasy Springs.

Start doin your California Dreamin' now, folks!

This sounds like a freakin' BLAST, and after the Dallas festivities I'd hate to miss out on a shindig put together by BP and company, but...

:(

I have to go with "maybe" for now. I just found out the wife will be out of town that weekend and right now I've got nobody to look after the kids. Going to keep workin' on it...

Thanks. I'll look at flights and such when I get home . . . FROM THE POLICE AT MADISON SQUARE GARDEN! I don't have a ticket yet, but I'm heading down right now to look for one. Wish me luck.

Is it possible to arrange for the secret password to start early and end late for those of us making a vacation out of it? If not, no problem.

I'm very far away from you, but I would have killed to come if I had been able to. Unfortunately I have some work at these times (studio recordings) and can't be there.

I'll try to come and meet you at the NAMM show in January, but there again it will all depend on my working schedules.

Cheers and have fun !

Hey Everyone!

We had a great time at the Embassy Suites in La Quinta today. Once I set foot on the grounds I remembered how nice this part of the valley is. There are beautiful mountain views just about 180 degrees around, and the La Quinta cove is fairly protected from wind. We got a tour of the facility, including one example of each of the types of rooms that will be available to our party. They're FREAKIN AWESOME! I really think you guys will be happy with the selection. The rates are very reasonable for a resort like this, in La Quinta, at the very beginning of the Snow Bird Season here in the dez. We locked in the rates for Friday and Saturday at $109/night, and Couch, I'm sure that the rates will be reasonable if you'd like to flank the weekend with days on each end of it.

Another cool thing about this resort is that they're going to arrange a booking page on their website just for the Knucklehead group. This way you'll have the comfort and ease of Expedia-type booking directly with the resort. We've already also gotten the one-night-paid arrangement taken care of and we should be able to start accepting reservations on the site by tomorrow.

Also, literally right across the street from the resort is the newly-built Old Town La Quinta :)confused:, ahhahah). They've got a cute little shopping area with great restaurants and a couple bars in there too. You can browse their official website here: Old Town - La Quinta.

It's gonna be fun. It's gonna be big. You're gonna be bummed if you don't come. Just ask any of the people who missed the '05 Open House. Book now!

If any of you have any questions, concerns, doubts or anything, please feel free to PM me, Kevin, Darthsarahmus, Jodizzle, Derek or Applescott at any time. You can also find most of our direct e-mail addresses on the EB site.

OH YEAH

As if all the select food and drink Pops will be putting down your throats all weekend wasn't enough...

at the Embassy Suites, there's a "Manager's Happy Hour" starting at 5:30 - FREE snacks and FREE beverages to wash them down! And your breakfast (omelettes to order, buffet breakfast) is INCLUDED!

Hey German,

That's SO COOL that you're going to come!

Probably the best airport for you to fly into would be either Palm Springs (airport code: PSP - 35 minutes to Indio), Los Angeles International (LAX -2.5 hours to Indio) or Phoenix, Arizona (PHX - about 3-3.5 hours to Indio) and ride over with Ritchie Darling. There's also some people coming out from LAX too so you can catch a ride with them. Once you all get there, you won't be needing your cars.

As far as the jam goes, the best thing to do would be to find a bass player on here (gee, that will be difficult, hahah) and see if they will play a couple songs with you. We'll probably have a couple drummers sussed out by then, the famous John Ferraro and the not-so-famous substitute Knucklehead who braves being called a drummer on the forum for the rest of their lives. The Jam itself is really a casual event, so don't be nervous, but see what you can put together to impress us! :D

Uhh . . . The Police at MSG was amazing. Thanks for the info. I'll check it all out in the morning. I hope I can make this happen. Sounds like a blast. I was in L.A. for the Star Wars convention 2 months ago, so we'll see.

(Highlights of the evening: Truth Hits Everybody, Wrapped Around Your Finger, Synchronicity II. alright . . . I'll stop hijacking, it was just soooo good. got in for $50 too.):D

Hotel, and surroundings, sounds great, and near 50% cheaper than the Fantasy resort.

Ready to book. :)
