francric, thats 2 EBMM (BFR Luke & JP6 LE) I bought, not 2 BFR if thats what you were thinking.
I have been wanting a JP6 for a long time, and having the LE available in BD, well I had to buy it now.

My original plan was to buy a JP6 in DG and the Luke in BD, but then I went BFR with the Luke so....
hmmmm. 2 blue guitars at once...well I have no blue guitars now, so I guess thats ok.

I hope you are right about the condition of the guitar. I know GC can wreak havoc on a guitar, and spending this kinda dough on an axe, well it better be perfect.

Btw, its taking the selling of a couple of my guitars to help finance this purchase, and I'm single, thats why its the Banker.

Marty,
Enjoy the BFR, I think you make the right choice. I wouldn't sweat about the condition of the guitar. The GC's that have them knew what they were getting. When I picked mine up the store was buzzing as I opened the box. I would be surprised if any of these were put out on the floor for display.

3 down 7 to go. Although when Phil made the announcement he only listed nine stores as getting these. I wonder if one disappeared in transit? ;)

Do you know if yours is gonna be quilt or flame?

Oh yeah, nice job on the BD JP too...

Marty,
I haven't seen any pictures of the GC Lukes in quilt yet. There have only been a couple of BFR Luke quilts that I've seen and they looked pretty good.

These tops are really tough to get accurate pictures of. In different lighting and angles they change appearance big time.

When is yours due to arrive? Don't forget to post some pics!!!

fred,
Mine should be here by monday.
The reason i asked about the quilt is cause I was wondering if you preferred the look of the flame over the quilt or if you were just a flame kinda guy.

It depends, I like both but a nice flame is usually more consistently good looking. Quilts can vary widely and it's a real personal preference on those. I prefer large puffy quilts, that look like a swimming pool or ocean.

Maybe I am just a flamer at heart...

ok, I went and saw the quilt top bfr luke in manhattan. Now don't jump all over me, this is just my opinion.
I was totally underwhelmed by the quilt top. I expected to see a really nice top on this top of the line EBMM guitar, but i was dissapointed. The quilt on my axis looks 10 times better.
I guess maybe quilt tops are very much a personal preference.

heres my axis

The Axis quilt looks fabulous. You didn't happen to snap any pics of the BFR Luke to post so we can see what you're talking about, did you?

you know, I am really sorry that I didn't have a camera to snap any pics for you guys. and my cell phone cam is junk. But like I said, it wasn't anywhere near my axis quilt in depth, or clarity or pillowieness or uniformity. What bugs me about that is the bfrs are the top of the line and list at $3500. I just assumed i would be looking at a top that would blow my axis away, but that didn't happen.

The quilt on the one in Big D is awesome, not overkill but not too subtle would be perfect for my tastes, may have to talk the wife into it somehow if it is not already gone:D
