8. (or at least I think I'm on number eight) Putting locking tuners on the Axis. I imagine with that it would add increased stability to the FR. I know the locking nut does really well, but I would think that locking tuners would add that much more stability to the tuning. All of my friends that play Axii with FR's on them have commented that this is the best FR system they've ever played. I think to improve on an all ready amazing thing is smart upon smart![/SIZE]

How would that work? I don't think the locking tuners would make any difference once the nut is locked down

Let's refrain from sullying this thread with mention of other brands, and let's get back to the topic at hand.
PS You're welcome for my personal moderation, Spud.

While I thank you as well for your personal moderation, I have to ask you to put my comment in context. I think of all the modifications BP might agree with, sticking an EBMM into a dryer with a handful of nails is definitely not one.
If you dislike the word "Squier" I'll refrain from using it. But I would gladly buy one and send it to someone to save a Ball from damage!
But we're all being light-hearted and fun here!

I'm obligated to back up my fellow lefties here. Though being mainly a bass player, I have sent a couple emails in the past to EBMM about a lefty JP7 ;)

Something a little more realistic (but in the same category as a lefty JP) would be a piezo option in my future lefty basses. I know why it isn't offered, but if I had to pick one mod to the LE '08 that i'll be ordering, it'd be that.

See, righty guitarists, lefty bassists, they all want a lefty JP. We can't let them down. :(

Ahh Piezo - my favourite option on a guitar. --Keep hoping and wishing MacD! :)

Oh I will. I made a promise to myself many years ago that I would never 'Hendrix' a righty guitar. So hopefully it never has to come to that :)

Yay for moderation.

My moderation is just a lighthearted joke. Don't worry, GreenWizard; I'm with you, but just for the sake of this thread I'll be the difficult one. :p It's just that if this topic veers off course, then it will be shut down, and then yet another thread will have to be started. In order to ease the bandwidth load and give this thread a dedicated purpose, it just makes sense to bust your chops. Nothing personal... yet. Hahahahahaha.

I think having locking tuners on the Axis would just add a little more stability to the system. It seems like it wouldn't hurt, because there would be one more place where the strings would be secured. I may be over-thinking this particular one, but a friend and I have thought about it on numerous occasions.

Hooray for lighthearted jokes!!! In fact I'm actually going to support you on this one:
Although I have to admit that having a locking nut seems to make locking tuners redundant, you have to think of the convenience when changing strings. With non-locking tuners you end up with a lot of string wound around the post and while you're bringing it up to tune you have a lot of string sticking ready to poke your eye out. Locking tuners are easy: thread it, stretch it, lock it, clip it.
If it were up to me locking tuners would be on everything...
excluding dogs and sandwiches of course...

Well hot damn.

I never actually thought of the practicality of having locking tuners like you just suggested. That would make the string switching easier. I imagine it would eliminate at least forty-six minutes from the four hour process of changing one string on a Floyd Rose!

Hahahahaha. Silly locking tuner sandwiches taste like they're out of tune.

coil tap on a silo that will give you single coil sounds too,

J

Hey Johnny! Long time no see!
It would be cool to have an HSS with the bridge tapped to split the coils. Like 4 Single Coils!!
BTW, I'm leaving Kuwait, so it's one less ball in the Middle East... sorry-o
One more in CT though!
