Don't know if they are all as heavy as this one, but that low-mid tone control is one radical mutha. Probably has the greatest range of any tone control I've seen yet.

You like the Bongo 5HH, try a Bongo 5H. There is the sound that you will never get from a 5HH

would you believe that initially the Bongo eq was so powerful EBMM had to de-engineer it? Imagine how radical it could be?

To me, EQ is like power tools.

In the hands of a craftsman, a table saw can be used to create beautiful furniture. In the hands of the average hack like me, a table saw is at least as likely to produce a trip to the emergency room involving much blood, bandages and stitches.

Just knowing *what* a device does in no way gives you the ability to use it correctly, yet musicians routinely believe that if they simply read the manual and know how the knobs work they're fully qualified to produce world-class results.

Some of us never even get that far and don't quite know what the knobs do in the first place.

There is such a thing as too much control. It's easy to produce a dog's breakfast if you don't know what you're doing.

Even with the relatively simplified Bongo 4-band EQ, if you turn everything up to 11 is sounds, um...."sub-optimal." But I guarantee there are people out there doing that, who think it's just great.

it's so tempting, since all other basses only go to 10.
I mean 11 is always better than 10. :p;):D
