I want to play get it on bang a gong. and yes i am bringing a gong

Gee BP, as long as you have the "gong" being transported there, we might as well play the "Lemon Song" (led zep); I know you know that one!! And, if not, are you available to play on at least one of my tunes??? Huh, huh, huh........ :)

Right...I suppose you'll want me to believe that "Smokin in the Boys Room" and "Helter Skelter" aren't Motley Crue tunes now. :D:rolleyes:

Now I've let some things go already - such as "I'm A Believer" being listed as a Smashmouth song (Neil Diamond wrote it, by God), but "Bang a Gong" was T Rex, dammit.

the yes I know about the remakes,

Jack

Now this made me laugh! :D

A little back story - my song choices were a "cut & pasted" from my Band's song listing. In our Band docs and charts I represent song title and "version" to remind folks of which version we most closely follow (you'll also note Pink Cadillac - ala Jerry Lee Lewis).

Didn't realize Neil Diamond had a hand in I'm a Believer... But my two 50-something guitar players try to "monkey-ize" our version every now and again. When one of them starts singing the "Hey, hey, hey, heh-hey" behind the "Love was out to get me" I just stop playing (that be bass and drums) and threaten to take my ball and go home if it happens again. ;)

sounds like a perfect band

Thank you, sir.

It is the joy of my life.

We're far from being a "hot" band and I would never call us truly talented, but we have a blast doing it and we think we make the people who hear us happy.

You can't ask for more than that.

But more to the point...there are no lead guitarists or drummers to feed! :D

We have to let you play lead. (You'd get tired pumping roots all day!:D)

It goes to the balance of the band. Each of us has many roles. Were that we could do the S&G version - so much less commercial and Pop based. But the Bangles version is still good, despite its more commercial arrangement.

Awwww gee, awww shucks, we just play and the people reward us with pity applause. We aint all that good, but we make up for it in earnestness.

Please

I didn't get to play in Dallas, although I had put myself forward beforehand for a tune. It was a combination of tiredness from just getting off a plane and feeling intimidated by all the fantstic playing.

However, I'd really like to play bass on something this trip. Name a tune and I'll learn it, preferably something a little funky/soulful but I'm up for anything really.

I think Sigmunds Couch is organizing a Knucklehead Jam Set List on another thread. I think he is asking everyone to email him the songs they are thinking of doing.

Well, "girl" bass players are allowed to play too at this jam, so why aren't you signed up on Sig's thread to play? Huh, huh, huh? I think we need less talk and more action from the knuckleheads! j/k:)
