First, my apologies if this has already been asked:

What style of music you are using your 20th Anniversary Silo for?

And, what sort of tones and/or sounds you find are best?

Just curious.:);)

thanks,

Joel

I've used mine to play anything, country -> blues -> rock. It covers all of my bases.

Lately it's been tuned down 1/2 step and I've been giving my G'nR tuition DVD's the workout. I can nail Slash's tone through my Stiletto with it, but the phrasing? It's not the guitar's fault.

I love it.

Joel, it seriously can cover everything. I love the tone block. Big Poppa has said he thinks it's the best guitar they've made for a reason. It sounds great.

If you know of one in the area and aren't going to grab it, let me know. Cause I would seriously consider grabbing another.

Scott, thanks for the input.

at this point it is a question of how many Balls do I really need and if I'll be moving one for a 20th:D;)

That's the big question. What do you give up? If I grabbed another I'd have to let something go as well. I definately play a guitar because of sound and feel. But you should also consider that this is a very special guitar. It's nice that it's a bit of a collectors item as well. You wouldn't be disappointed with it if you got one.

Have you seen the Youtube GuitarWorld review? Here it is if you haven't seen it

Joel,

are the ones at the 12th fret still there?
it says they're not sold on the website.

The quilt top(gorgeous in person, by the way) has sold. One of the forum members from Quebec(can't think of his name at the moment), bought it. The last time I was there the flame top was still there. Actually, surprised it was still there. Not sure if it's sold, yet.

I'm playing mostly original rock tunes and it covers 'em really well. One thing I notice is that I actually use the tone control on this guitar, whereas I usually don't on others. The neck bucker is bright and has a really wide range of useable sounds as you dial back the tone.

An awesome guitar. (But find me an MM that's not.)

What do you want to use it for?

Seriously, I've found that mine can cover anything that I want it to, from Gilmour type cleans, up to really ballsy high gain stuff.

Definitely get one if you can find one.

Mostly I tend to play on the lower gain side of things - blues-jazz-rock'n'roll and the occasional country tune ... mostly tunes/tones from the 50s, 60s and 70s ... good solid cleans and some nice warm over-drive tones.

Definitely give one a try. It's absolutely fantastic for everything you need it for.

I think with the 20th the question shouldn't be - what can it do? The question really ought to be, which amp do I pair with my 20th to get the tones I am looking for? Yeah - it's that versatile.

good point - I am currently using my other Balls with a Dr Z Z-28 head thru a 2x10 cab or a Carmen Ghia head thru 1x12 cab .... minimal effects(compressor and overdrive) :D
