Hey guys, i recently picked up a new fully loaded JPMM, and it's been treating me great. However, I changed the factory strings that the guitar came with to Blue steel: .46 through .09 and noticed that this guage strings aren't giving me enough tension to keep the bridge "straight" (at same level of the body). I don't want to mess around with the springs or action, so my question is : What guauge strings do the JPMM's come out of the factory with? also .. are they slinky's or what? Thanks in advance duders.

After hearing the Petrucci has switched to .09's has this now changed? If so, when did they change?

As well, are JP7's the same and what guage is the low B string? Does EB sell individual strings in this guage...it seems all the local dealers only carry d'Addario in singles.

It seems to be a debate. But I have a new JP and it came with 10s, so I'm confident that EB is sticking with 10s.

I'm getting used to the 10s on mine and might keep them on. W/ them the guitar just resonates beautifully and the tension is just right for digging in and doing some cool bends/hammerons. W/ the 10s the trem bar seems to be at just the right tension as well. I feel more in control of the bar on my JP than my Luke and Axis. Of course I'll have to try 9s on the JP for comparisons.
