Britney Spears has finally been a source of inspiration for me. After years of writer's block she has set my wheels in motion. I'm finally getting the hang of cubase too. :)

It's the first (default) song on my myspace page www.myspace.com/joenervebass

Hope ya'll enjoy... and I love the sound of the Stingray. It's a mix of the neck and single coil bridge.

Took me over 2 years to get cubase working. :) I bought about 3 mini studios in the interim, and had even more trouble with them. Had to take out and reread the manual any time I wanted to record a single track.

I think once the main hurdles are gotten over it gets pretty easy - the first few jumps were huge for me though. Now that the main technical stuff is out of the way I feel I can start finally creating again - and having some fun. I'm not familiar with any of the other programs. I knew cubase inside and out years ago before audio, when it was just a midi editor. I figured it would be a simple transition. Ahem...

I hear garageband is supposed to be pretty musician friendly program. I've never seen it though.

Thanks for the listen, ya'll!

I get a much better tone out of my B in Sonar.
No but really, I find Sonar easier to use. I actually tune my B to C or D anyway.

Yeah, the bass sounds great, but... the whole track is just plain killer. Great concept, killer production quality. What did you use for a voice mic? Is the MM recorded DI or ??

Thanks a lot. The bass is pretty much direct, only going through a zoom B21U I'm using for an interface (It's set to a program that gives me a little compression). The mic is an AKG C1000, drums nuthin more than a $300 casio keyboard :). Guitars I did direct through an ancient KORG stomp box. Was trying to get a zeppelin (the ocean-ish) kinda sound. Didn't get exactly what I wanted but close enough to make me happy. All other sounds came out of a borrowed KORG analog synth of some sort.
