Just got home from playing a marathon 6 hour cover gig. This was was my first gig with the Markbass CMD102P and I have to say I was pretty impressed. This was an outdoor gig so I brought one of my GK Neo 2x12's for extra low end and powered it with the Markbass combo. The sound was incredible. The tone of the Markbass seems to be a little warmer than my GK(1001RBII) and to my ears has a little more low end.I'd say the GK is definitely louder(it does have 200 more watts)but the Markbass seemed to keep it's composure better at high volumes intsead of breaking up and getting dirty like the GK.Like Oddjob said in his thread they are both good but different. At first I was kind of bummed the Markbass had no control for the tweeter level as it seemed kind of hissy but adding a little of the VLE took care of that nicely while adding some character.I used my Sterling HS in the number 4 position most of the night and the Markbass preamp section complimented it very nice. Hats off to Markbass for a great product!

I did my whole Summer tour with the cover band (18 gigs) with my SR5 and my MarkBass rig. Each set would last from 4 to 5 1/2 hours. Good job from the amp observed from here too. No overheating, steady tone response, etc. And so easy to carry.

6 hours? What the... That sounds painful.

you haven't played Randy's Sterling. 6 hours holding a piece of magic = nirvana.

Randy, glad the MarkBass combo is to your liking. Figured you'd like it after playing on some in Dallas. Hope to get my hands permanently on some markbass gear one of these days.

Yeah the Sterling rocked..........Position 4 + Markbass = tons of growl......Jazz Bass who??? BTW Kim(singer from the band we saw and my cover band) asked if you had a good time :p

6 hours without a break? Where was the Union?

No union representation but they gave us a 10 every hour and fed and paid us well. They also had a keg of Newcastle flowing so I wasn't complaining:D
