 Wow. I'm sure glad you're okay. Sorry about the car -- a classic for sure. I don't have a classic but I think I'm going to get an extinguisher and keep it in my car and ready -- just in case. It'd suck to go by something like that and not be able to help, or to have it happen to me!

Terrible story. All of the mid 60's cars are my favs. What a great era for automotive companies. I still drive a 64 Ranchero when I feel like it, but we had a 65 SS Convertible when we were kids. Man that car had so much style, just being in it made you feel like the coolest kid in town. It also suffered a fiery fate, with the hood locks installed, there was no way for us to put out the engine fire. :(

Yoiks!

I see the putter was right on top. Did you keep it to show Scotty?

I echo what so many others have said here...it's just Stuff. You're okay and that's all that counts.

Oh, and while the Bongo van is appealing and oh-so-Haight-Ashbury, I disagree about the loaded Camry idea.

I think you should get a Fiero. :D

BP, I know exactly where that's at. Boy, how sad is that response time? It's not like they are busy out there....They don't even extinguish and fine people who openly burn trash out there in Thermal and I believe that's illegal. Keep us posted on what happens next.

BP, if you ever need anything out here in the desert, PM me and I'll give you my cell number.

BP, first off.. thank goodness you're okay.

Now here's the plan:

Set it up so that you need Tony Levin to show up somwhere. Call and tell him you'll send a car. Then have that car delivered to him shortly after the call.

Im going to write Scotty Cameron a letter much like the on Tony Wrote me.

Dear MR Cameron,

Thank you for making this fine putter. I think that you should know that it gets hot out here in the desert and with all of the potential customers here surely you want the putter to be able to withstand the heat for more than 3 days?

Hey BP, SOOOOOOOOO happy to know that you are OK.

Hopefully the clubs can be replaced, but I know how much work you and Jimmy put into making the Chevelle the awesome car it was and that's very sad.

Very frustrating about the Fire Department, and it makes me think about all the times I've smelled gas in old cars. I do carry a fire extinguisher in my '66 pickup, but I wonder if it needs recharging??

This also reminds me of a time in the '70s when I was on my way home from a gig, and came across a car burning on the side of the road. Then I see my old '56 Chevy parked on the shoulder "further on down the road" and our keyboard player who I just sold the Chevy to, is dragging an elderly couple out of the burning car to safety. The fire department arrived shortly after, and we all watched the car burn to the ground, but everyone turned out to be OK.

I'm just very thankful that you are OK - there is ONLY 1 BP!!!!!!
