I do want one. But currently, I dont' have any humbucker guitars with a maple board. My maple strats are... well, strats! I have rosewoods with hums. I'll probably end up getting both, but one at a time. So I'll get the black maple one...

I don't get it... So there's no switch? When the mono is plugged in, the piezo is already on and I have to blend the volumes using the knobs??

wow... that's really nice!!! I like the look, but it looks a bit feminine for my tastes (think of a really sexy bare skinned female arm with a nice lace glove on the hand...)

and i thought i was the only one! although for me it would have to be an Ebony board leading to that glove

I bought my Silo with piezo few months ago-used one, got a problems with two saddles - finally mounted new piezo saddles and now everything works and plays great.
Last month I played many gigs with my new accoustic amp - see the pics - it's a small manufacturing based on AER 60 - more powerfull with wider eq and really good reverb - sounds perfect when I play both piezo and magnetic pickups with two amps:

I like bright!!! the brighter the better... Especially with humbuckers. I find that hums on a bolt on (like my JP6) always tend to be a bit dark.

In that case get the maple, but it seems that you have already made up your mind, the black with maple is cool, I just prefer black pearloid pickguard on that guitar with black pups -

You made the right choice on the maple fretboard! IMHO an alder body with an all maple neck is just about as good as it gets (without getting into tone blocks etc.).

Just FYI: the Silhouettes no longer feature PAF Pros but now sport the amazing Virtual Hot PAF/Virtual PAF combo - you won't be disappointed!

why don't they offer birdseye maple necks on these anymore? I LOVE these guitars, but the website is SOOOOO lacking info....I wonder if they have a job opening for the web site.....they could pay me with gear and strings.

I keep hearing that the new site is about to be released, but in the meantime, could they at least update some of the info????

I bet those strings with some mayo and ketchup would taste fantastic... Heh.

BP mentioned before that Birdseye necks are reserved for their signature and custom models. Kind of like product segmentation. It's a product marketing reason to justify a product line separation from the rest. I'm not saying there's anything wrong. I'm merely saying thats the way businesses are done these days.

I'm in the premium watch line. (think of watches costing more than $20k USD per watch) It's akin to saying that you get a normal croc leather strap for a normal purchase, but the special ones get an Australian Hornback Crocodile strap. (I'm not even sure there's such a breed...) So I kind of understand where this line of thinking is coming from, and I applaud EBMM on making this a smart business decision move. It basically separates the mortals from the gods. It's a bit elitist, but it's the best way to do business.

Personally, I like the looks, but I don't really care, because as long as the wood is a good cut (which EBMM guitars are), and they stay in shape after a few years, plain maple is fine for me.

I'm painfully awaiting the new site as well.
