Tnx for asking BP, the "experts"around here in rehab are very tight lipped and nervous about making any projections especially considering that arms and hands typically ttake longer to restart after a CVA thannlegs and feet, but the best I could cipher from their mumbo Bongo was that I could expect to be living as a drugstore cowboy for the next 24 - 30 months

weird experience today in rehab . did the iPod thing for a while and I tripped waaayoffinto EBMM space for a while ... my damaged brain and left hand started talkin fast to each other in the middle of some paul butterfield and some allison kraus.. it was the strangest darn feeling but verrry frustrating when I was still unable to actually wiggle my fingers ... fast forward, ...I ended up getting really down on myself about not being able to play SR5 anylonger and put a call out to the doctor who immediately sent the druggist in to fill up my tank with more brain beans to which I politely declined and then asked the other doctor about my chances of PzoLovin' real soon to which he politely declined and advised me to forget about ever PzoLovin' again in this little life of mine
Aywaze, after talkin' on the line with my Sweetie, I was able to remind myself (with her helpof course)that SR5 PzoLovers ain't exactly eazzy quitters, So the best advice I could scrounge up after supper was to ease off on Butterfield and Kraus and focus more on grasping and lifting a piece of paper on the way to lifting a 6 pound weight

I haven't been in the $$ for a 20th Sr5, tho I'd love one, so it does help to know you've got more good new creative instruments on the way.
What also keep me happy is that my trusty SR5 KILLS!

it's one thing to be in rehab and miss SR5 PiezoLovin' but I'm learning a new trick in Physio ..that is to do the work while Gassing up for a Sterling5 H/Piezo probably in Tobacco Burst ... ain't no drugs gonnatake ThaT Gaspain away .... only a new Sterling 5 Piezo will take the edge off but meanwhile, there's still quite a lot of movement to recover in the left hand and we're starting on a piece of paper today I'm hoping.
get on the Sterling 5 Gaspedal everyone ... she's gonna be another EBMM Classic even as an intro model As with my first SR5, I wouldn't be a bit nervous about special ordering one without ever laying finger on one.once the pics start burning my screen I'll know I'm hooked.

Personally - I love my Bongo 4, and bought a Bongo 5. Turns out that the slight difference in the neck between the 4 and the 5 works against my small hands, and I am wiped after a short period, even though I love the sound. (This is even after having Tommy set it up oh-so-fine!). Having played a Sterling once (thanks Pete!), I am dying to see how that neck translates into a 5'er............I'm trying to be patient, really............
Now the really difficult part
I used to be sure my Sterling5 GAS pains were tobacco coloured but in the last coulpe of days my vision is shifting (must be brain damage) and I'm starting to see Trans Teal / moonstoneand Natural / abalonewith rosewood...

I was totaly a Sterling fan till I got my Bongo 4HH man that bass is fast becomin my new war horse!

I too, am very curious to see what the Sterling 5 will bring. For a 5-string, the StingRay5 already has a relatively tight string spacing. Will the body be downsized to be smaller and lighter? Pickguard gone? I can't say I have GAS at this point - I'll have to see it and feel it first - but the current bass lineup already covers a lot of ground. It will be interesting to see where it goes.

I read somewhere that it might be 35" scale. Then again, there may be some things on the internet that are not 100% reliable...

That's right...I'm bringing it back.
My only source of comfort at the moment, but I still have this empty, gnawing feeling as NAMM gets closer and closer with no news.
Perhaps for the first time, I can relate to those idiots who camp in front of a retail store for days prior to the newest game system release date. I feel like a junky jonesing for a drug I've never even taken.

It's been a while since i have written anything on here.It's hard to find the time.we just had twins making six kid's to home now.And also playing steady...But i am looking forward to the sterling 5 for sure.I play my sr5 everytime even though i have a sterling and a stingray.Thanks bp and the whole ernie ball family for being part of my family for so long.this place place is great people and great guitars.

Cool - yet another tangible benefit of joining the forum recently - I didn't even know a Sterling V was in the works. But I was just thinking this very day, after a play-date at GC, about the absence from the line-up of just such a beast. Can't wait to catch a glimpse of this fabled, mythical creature!
And in response to something I saw in the thread - I hope it doesn't end up with a 35" scale. The SR5 doesn't need it for a nice & tight low B.
And it shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone who's seen a handful of my posts since joining lately that ... I'd love to see them available in a nice figured maple (tops & necks)! Hey, if the Axis players can get 'em ... =)
