Actually, things worked out perfectly for me. I found out yesterday that I have to replace my furnace, so thanks Rob, you saved me the heartache of buying it then immediately having to sell it.

I've heard that the price to ship has gone up quite a bit recently. I think Jack paid something like $300 to ship one of his to Norway....

dang it, having all sorts of shipping issues with this guitar, never had problems in the past, been told the cost is $400 to ship with USPS, which is crazy as its always the same amount, around $120. Hard thing to sort out.

Rob USPS is now working with Fed Ex on over seas shipping so the cost has gone way up, any cheap USPS quotes are wrong, UPS is the only way to ship over seas and still way expensive. But 400.00 USPS is a little out of reach me thinks someone is trying to make a profit on shipping:)

I think I paid about $320 for DHL to ship, then I got hit with taxes on top of that.

It's getting quite expensive to ship nowadays. I still blame the government (especially Spud!!:D)

i think it depends on how snug the EBMM case is packed in he box, all that extra packing foam stuff just adds to the overall size, all the guitars ive had shipped cheap were shipped just how EBMM themselves ship them, case fit nice and snug in box- no extra crap.

I say get really friendly with your local music store

I had to ship a very expensive guitar and it was goin out the country so it would have cost the buyer a heck of alot more to ship it in

I went to my local Soundcontrol where Im a frequent customer and they shipped it UPS for free,I didnt pay a dime and the buyer didnt either :)

That makes no sense, as a former employee of said establishment and still on good terms with Pat - what you typed is coo-koo....

As for charges, when buying guitars from the US I've had every rate from $60 to $240 and some of them were quoting that for USPS!

There was a change in the shipping, but I get a lot of US sellers saying there's been a big jump when they don't want to post internationally.

No offense to you guys out of the US, but I can see why most sellers don't want to ship out of the country. It does seem like a bit of a headache.

Lol. Thats like half of what you payed for it. I mean you shouldn't stress over shipping prices. Even though living in Australia has its advantages :D ( I think)

But Congrats Rob on your purchase.

I think it just depends on if the guy at the USPS counter is a stickler for the rules.
When I shipped Rob's AL, it was just as they come from the factory, EBMM case & EBMM box.
The USPS guy pulled out a rules & regulations book about 12" thick, and then measured length, width, & depth.
He said the combined LWD exceeded Australia's limit by 8" and had to go express, which was around $240.
I felt bad charging you that much Rob, but didn't have time to go "price matching" at every local post office.
