Maybe when you spend thirty plus years working very hard to make valid products with a minimum of hype, you might hit the jackpot and actually have people that have faith that you will build a better mouse trap. THese strap locks are really nice and the button that goes with them is mm like and usable if you lose your strap......

Cool...I have no doubt they'll be great, will share the same high quality standards seen in all EBMM products and will do well. Was just wondering what they offer that I don't already have, since detailed info has been a bit hard to come by.

I know first-hand that you build better mouse traps...but I've got too many years under my belt to take it on blind faith that something I've never seen actually is better just because I like the company or because it's got a cool logo on it.

Show me...if it's a truly superior design then I'll be first in line and will be a loyal customer. To paraphrase Lee Iacocca..."If you can find a better-built product, buy it." I most certainly will. If you make the better product, it'd be stupid not to use it. (Poor Lee had that phrase backfire on him, though -- the K-car he was referring to was uninspiring -- and consumers flocked to better-built cars in droves.)

I like my Dunlops (I have the version that can be used with a plain strap), but they're not perfect. It is just barely possible to stick the pin in without it properly engaging, and I did have my strap come off once. Elimination of that one flaw would certainly make these the proverbial better mouse trap!

It really didn't take this old hillbilly long to figure out how they worked when I seen the picture of them. I know what I want for straplocks now.

I never bought a car from Iakooko.

I admit it - even if they're only as good as the Dunlops, not better, I'll still eventually replace my Dunlops with EBs because, what the hell, I like the logo.

Yes, I'm just that.....um.....whatever it is I am.

However, I fully expect them to be better than the Dunlops. Hey, isn't Dunlop a tire company?

the gimme the logo ebby-tam,
Jack

They work with the original strap button screws. That's it. So, no modifying the body for bigger/smaller screws.

So now that I've already put Dunlops on my SR5, I'm stuck with their crappy screws since it's more of a coarse thread? The original EB screws will be a lil' loose in the lady, if you know what I mean ;)

I'll put EBs on my DD but i'll buy those dunlops off ya when you get ready to off 'em Jack. :D

That's, of course, after our other transaction is completed.

Is there an estimated date for the EB strap locks being released?

ROFLMAO

Sorry, I know it's a legitimate question, but they were announced a long, long, long time ago and nothing's been heard since. The official announcement was at Winter NAMM 2007. That was January of last year!

I think it's safe to say they'll be done when they're done, and the good folks at EB will let us know.

I've held off putting Dunlops on my fretless just in case I like the EB locks better, but I've stopped worrying about when we'll actually get to see them.

Since when is January 2007 last year? Is it 2008 and I missed it?

Gentlemen, I think it's clear that the Straplocks are not yet amongst us.

There have been delays. I should think that's clear, too.

What I was told: "As soon as they're RIGHT, you guys will have them."

I think I'd like to wait for them to be right.

Yes?
