I just swung by the GC in Nashville to grab some Hybrid Slinkys. I took a look at the guitar side, and the EBMM's are out next to the PRS's. The GC here has a nice sunburst ASS, a black Luke, and a rosewood ASS.

Glad to see the EBMM's getting some front-of-the-store exposure. I know this was something BP and the head of GC talked about.

Hi all, my 1st post and 1st day with my 1st EBMM - I was at GC in Nashville last week and saw the sunburst ASS mentioned above, went back and bought it today! :D Amazing guitar - I wish I'd picked one up sooner.
I'll post some pics ASAP (see avatar for now), gotta get back to playing - just thought I'd chime in.

Jason

PS - the GC salesman I worked with was great...

Awesome Jason!!!

I was actually thinking about going to visit it today. Glad to hear you picked it up. I didn't get to play it, but it looked great!!!!

Definitely post pics. . . :D

BTW, are you from the Nash-Vegas area? It would be cool to meet some local knuckleheads!!

It's funny to hear everybody bitch about GC. We don't have them up here, and I have to tell you I'd love to see one around these parts. Somewhere with that kind of selection and the ability to return if you're not satisfied. Whenever I'm in the States (and that's pretty regularly) I find a local GC and just hang out.

Hey Beej,

Why don't you go down to LA MUSIC in Mississauga (there new location store) and tell me if you have ever seen that many EBMM's /Gibsons/Fenders/ESp's etc hanging on a wall in a GC?? they have over a 1000 electric and acoustic guitars on display and those are the ones that are out!!

You should start shopping at home a little more... I think you'll be pleasently surprised !! Especially since the dollar is basically on par :)

Touche my man, touche. I have not been to that store and am definitely overdue to check it out!

I wasn't touting lack of selection up here (there's obviously a ton of great stuff in the GTA ... especially thanks to a star Ontario rep ...) so much as I was saying how I'm surprised GC is unappreciated down south.

I live outside of Nashville, but I do pass through fairly often. I'd never been in a GC before they built this location, but I'm glad I did.
Here's the ASS, the birdseye neck is just SICK - I love it!

The Indianapolis, IN has little to NO MM's. They have a ton of basses though, but maybe one or two MM's, and they are almost always JP6's. Drag!!

The people that work at the Boston Guitar Center are total airheads when it comes to EBMM.

When I bought my JP6, I was very excited. I remember saying, "Wow, that's such a beautiful Petrucci."

The salesman replied, "Dude, this isn't a Petrucci."

I almost punched him in the face.

Another time I was trying out a Mystic Dream Petrucci with the thought of buying it. As soon as I was done and handed the guitar back, the sales guy immediately started inspecting the back of the guitar for scratches in front of my face. I was totally offended. I'm not a beginner, I don't even own a belt buckle, and I'm not stupid. I told him that it wasn't scratched and he replied, "Oh, I'm just looking a the sweet finish!"

Asshole. That wasn't even the worst part about the guy. While I was trying to play he kept interrupting me and reminding me what his name was and that if I qualified I wouldn't have to pay 'til 2009 and he kept telling me about this Gibson he bought because of the big no interest GC credit card bull**** going on.

Totally ruined my Guitar Center experience here forever. No respect, man.. no respect.

Yeah, sometimes you get sales guys like that, but there's also times where you'll get lucky and get someone who actually knows their stuff and is actually there to help ya out. The sales guys up at my local GC are top notch, know they're stuff, and they're very polite, well mannered, and helpful. Even though my local GC doesn't really carry any EBMM guitars, they still know what they are. LOL. When my Petrucci came in everyone that I know that works there was like "Holy $H!T" "That thing's insane." They all knew it was a Petrucci, and they even knew what the finish was called. :)

That sunburst Musicman ASS has been at that Nashville GC for a little while. I am always in doubt in whether to purchase a guitar from GC. So far I haven't done that. I call makenmusic and get my guitars from them. :D
