Just curious... I found my JP6 through the Dealer Locator. I wanted to get one, but I couldn't find one to play. I went to the dealer locator and found a store, Huber and Breese in Fraser, MI that had 2.

I went there intending to only play it... instead, I fell in love and put it on layaway.

Bottom line, the Dealer Locater works!!

When I was ordering my Ball I just called the Ernie Ball number directly and the guy who answered the phone was extremely helpful... he was reading me a list of dealers and all of the details of their silo specials that they had in stock... A+++++ on the phone support helping me locate a dealer that had exactly what I wanted in stock.

That's what I did, but via email.

It never worked for me. The dealer would put special orders in his system and when I'd go to try it out the guitars wouldn't be there. Last time I checked my red Luke was still in their system. Just go through Pete and order what you want.

More often than not, I've been disappointed by the dealer locator's inventory function, because I've found it to be inaccurate in general--at least with the dealers I've investigated here.

its up to the dealer and when we call a lot of them to remind them of it they get huffy and think we are trying to fool them or something...we are just trying to help sell it...

Yeah, it's a shame that more of the dealers don't put a little more effort in letting us know what's in stock. BP gives them a great opportunity through the EB site, but they can't expect the manufacturer to do EVERYTHING!

A good suggestion might be to spend 5 minutes a week and post your store's inventory here on the forum.

Hey Warthog, I am from the same HOOD as you !! :D

I love Huber and Breese, they had so much nice stuff there like customs, but I noticed they had some JP's, and I never had the chance to play them. But its good to hear were from the same area. I just moved to AZ, and Its pretty depressing.

But anyways, I would have bought my JP from Huber and Breese, and I might if they ship, but I haven't seen to many on the dealer locater. Guitar Center is never available to see if they have any balls. So I would probably go to an online carrier like Pete Dubaldo.

Have used the dealer locater a couple of times in the past.

But lately, I feel like I've been spoiled as there are several dealers all within a short drive where I can go look for my next Ball.

Gotta give props to Gear Music, LA Music, The Guitar Shop and Long and Mcquade. If I time it right I can get to all of 'em in one day and still not be missed by my family:D;)

cheers, eh

Another one by email, since lefty Luke's are not listed in the "build an instrument" section.

I contacted customer support and asked who had a Lefty Luke in stock and was replied back with the required info. I then ordered from one of the dealer's who had one in stock. Helped me out a lot!!!!!

I guess you were luckier than I in the sense that I've seen JP6s (among other things) on their dealer locator info and found no guitars there. Maybe, they're updating it nowadays.

Hey Roburado and Unclerico!

I started my search for the JP6 the end of July and saw one JP on the Dealer locator for Huber and Breese... at that time all I wanted to do was play one. I called them and they indicated that they had 2 in stock, a MD and Redburst. I checked out the Redburst out (MD too much $$) and on August 11 (the day I saw Dream Theater played in Detroit!) I placed the guitar on layaway.

A couple of weeks later when I picked up the guitar, I saw that the MD was no longer on the wall. I had wanted to pull the trigger on the JP before the concert least someone else be inspired to get a Pet being that they are hard to find in a store in southeast MI.

The Birthday on my guitar was March so I assume the guitar had been hanging on the wall since then (a bit surprising if you aske me)... non the less, that's my story.
